$17.83 4Nine Style Mechanical Mod -

I was wondering what brand makes the product shown there and if this is a good value?
and, do they all have the same serial numbers on the firing switch?

This will be my first mech mod!

thanks in advance

As your first clone mechanical mod, I would go with more reputable brand like Infinite for 4nine...also you do realize the top cap allows direct connection with battery...so you better beware what short can do to your your battery if you atty doesn't protrude perfectly from the 510 connection.

so this is not an infinite? and I'm looking into the tobh atty...

Not for that price and also the mods block your link for ECF people...I don't own Tobh clone/authentic..but I do believe it has long 510 connection...Just darn well make sure that 510 pin is stick out of the top cap...and that you own good IMR batteries like Sony VCT 4/5.

If you're in love with the way the 4Nine looks, by all means go for it...but understand the mechs pros and cons etc..and always vape safe with mechs/rebuildable atties

The Tobh clone from Fasttech has an extremely short 510, so short in fact ti won't fire on 2 of my mech mods or my Provari if I use a beauty ring. This is easily fixable though by loosening the center pin ever so slightly until it makes contact.

Thanks for the input....it's hard to tell with pics...

It's hard to tell in person, in fact I had to put it up against my other drippers to even notice a slight difference. But it was that difference that made it not fire on certain mods, I guess I doesn't help that I'm not getting any younger either. :)

are there any other copper mods without logos or accents on the tube???
There are copper "no logo" mechs available in more "standard" patterns... perhaps a better choice than the 4Nine for a new mech vapist.
Of the top of my head, there are the EhPro Caravela style clone and the Hcigar Nemesis... although the latter may be harder to find, as it's been discontinued. Both are available from US vendors, where it will be easier to deal with issues, should any arise.

As a potential new mech user, there is a level of knowledge you should become familiar with... batteries, resistance/current parity and general safety.
Please click on my second sig line hyperlink and read the article, as well as the articles linked within... until you have a good understanding of the information required for a safe and happy unregulated mech and rebuildables future.

Don't be afraid to ask questions, then... question the answers to ensure the respondent knows what they're about. ;-)

Cheers

Not necessarily ... OP's link is no good, but I can see where the url was supposed to go, and this 4nine is made by Vape Tech and is of good quality. Infinite's clone, while nice looking, is not 1:1 .. its too long at 82mm, and it not a true 4nine ( 49mm in 350 mode). The Infinite also requires an extra magnet to make up for the longer tube length.

Vape Tech's is properly sized, does not need an extra magnet (which can be dangerous) .. The only thing the Infinite version has over the Vape Tech are less visible seams. The 4nine is not about seamless tubes, its about form, and function.

thanks Nikkita , planning on a patina so the seams may not be so noticeable anyways. I noticed your post for this device in another thread so kudos.

You're welcome :) ... I was just checking a vid for how to force a patina. Are you going forced patina, or just regular ole wear and tear patina?

I think I will let it naturally patina for awhile then do a force patina. Not sure yet if I would need to polish it up before a forced patina.

I found this site to help with the blueish look I'm going for!
Patina Formulas for Brass, Bronze and Copper

Based on the video I watched, you wouldn't polish before forcing a patina as the metal needs to be clean and clear of all oils, residues etc. If there is any clear coat on the copper, you have to remove that also with a acetone bath... here is the instructional I watched, and his result is a sick blue something or the other :p
