Hi. I hope someone can help me. I have been smoking 20 cigs a day for about 20 years. recently I have just started e cigs, about 3 weeks ago. I finding myself fairly anxious. I fear that the poisons from the nic may harm me. Even knowing that e cigs are far better for me than the death sticks i was smoking. I find myself also feeling tired. the e cigs do dry my mouth so i drink plenty of water. I am generally an anxious person anyway, and am currently on anti deps for this. I am currently smoking about 2 and half mls of 16 mg juice per day. I have just started mixing 16 mg juice with a 8 mg because of my fears. although i am constantly craving more. As i said i am new to vaping and am unsure of a safe limit etc. or maybe I am not vaping enough ejuice. this could be making me anxious ? I appreciate any comments and help. thanks.

Here's some information that may help

You probably aren't getting enough nicotine. Nicotine delivery isn't as efficient as cigarettes, particularly for someone that just starts out vaping. That's especially true if your using small battery mini/disposables.

Welcome joo34.

I can understand exactly where you are coming from. Once you get set up on here (5 posts) I will message you with some helpful stuff, I hope.

Nicotine is not as dangerous as people think. Sure, it's a drug and addictive and harmful in large quantities, but you are safe with an e-cig as far as the Nicotine you are getting is concerned.

Most of your anxiety is going to be from quitting smoking and possibly a lower level of nicotine in the your blood stream. What you are feeling, I went through.. :)

Hang in there.

HI and welcome to the ECF

The first thing to realize is that the nic absorption rate for vaping is much lower than smoking cigarettes and is much slower also. so you may be suffering from low nic levels and your thinking that the nic in vaping is poison maybe causing more anxiety. Nic at 16mg will not poison you (of course keep it away from children and pets) I think you do not want to dilute it down anymore from 16mg. If the fear mongering on the safety of vaping by the government and media (both of who are owned by the antivaping corporations) is causing you extreme anxiety issues you will need to make your own choice on vaping.

better devices deliver the nic better with cigalike (stick batteries that closely resemble cigarettes) being the very worse.

I smoked 30 cigarettes a day for 36 years and switch 100% on day one of vaping. I started at 24mg not quite 11 months ago and am currently at 2mg and 0mg (and can also go a full day without vaping if needed) so personally vaping worked for me to switch off cigarettes.

I hope any part of this helps you and good luck

cheers guys. I feel so much better. I did actually have a naughty ... today. which i feel bad about. I got terrible head rush. felt very dizzy. so yes it makes sense that my body is not receiving enough nic. I do love e cigs, and really happy to vape, just finding it a bit hard. hopefully this will get better and i will start feeling like a none smoker soon etc :) thanks again everyone.

Hello joo34 and welcome to ECF :)
If you take anti-depressant's (I do along with an anxiety med.) you may need to have your perscription adjusted also.
There are things in cigarette's that affect you in this way that you have lost.

I had the same thing happen several times while trying to move down from 18mg to 6mg...i had to go to 12mg for a bit and that seemed to help me some...good luck
