Hello, sorry in advance for the inc ......ed questions.

I got an ego T from a friend. It was really beat up so I only manage to use it 2 times ( after that it refused to charge). In these 2 days I really enjoyed it. My clothes didn't stink anymore, I could vape in my bad all that good stuff. But I got my eyes on the kangertech subox mini kit. I read some about it, I thought for a while that I'll know how to use it, but reached this forum and now I'm confused again and I'm afraid now it will explode in my hands or smth. Should I buy it and just use it with the coil that it comes with? I don't wanna do anything fancy with it, just vape it, swap batteries, charge and repeat.

The biggest safety factors you are worried about are in the battery and the battery charger. The Subbox mini kit is not a bad choice in the application you are describing, for general plug and play ease of use. The right batteries and charger will up the price from what you are seeing listed, but with the concern of a mishap, the battery and how it is used is the biggest danger. Safer chemistry batteries help reduce this risk factor as well as the right charger for the job even further reduces risks.

Suggested batteries, buy from reliable sources, Orbtronics, RTDVapor, Illumination Supply, you can find the right chargers at these sources as well

Batteries:
Samsung 25R
LG HE2, HE4, HB6
Sony VTC3, VTC4, VTC5

Chargers
XTar - any model
Efest - LUC2 or LUC V4
Nitcore - i2, i4, D2, or D4

hi @Yonzy and welcome to the forum. You'll do fine with it. Swapping out the coils in that tank are not much different than any other tank. The only concern is the batteries. Like they said above, only get good quality batteries. It's also recommended to use an independent battery charger rather than charging the battery while it's in the mod. You can get a decent one like the Nitecore i2 for about 10 bucks.

howdy - and welcome

as stated above, battery safety is key - in my kanger subox, i use samsung 25r batteries (can get a pair of them, with a good external charger (nitecore d2)) shipped for about $30... i would not use the usb charger except in an 'emergency' - and if you have a pair of batteries and keep extra charged one with you, should be a non issue :)

subox is a great little kit!

i guess you need not to worry when vaping branded device, the news that circles the internet is a misplacement of a tank on a mechanical mod, you should never use a tank on mechanical device.

Wow, I wasn't expecting to get the answers so quick. For now I'll get the ego kit since in my country the kanger is pretty expensive (half my paycheck). I heard the paint on the black model gets off easy (not a big deal). I only smoke half a pack a day so I guess I won't need to charge it that often. Just having an ego for now will get me off cigs witch means I'll save so much money. (Main reason I wanna quit).

Thank you for the kind answers. It really helped me.

Not necessarily true, a lot of these newer tanks are a lot safer than someone practicing building their own coils in an RDA or RTA, always trying to push the limits of what a unit will do. However another concern here, is lack of knowledge regarding what someone is doing, taking a mech, slapping on a 0.3ohm Subohm Tank, then slapping in a 10amp max CDR battery into the mech and expect that battery to safely push that 0.3ohm coil, yeah, that's a mushroom cloud waiting to happen, take that same setup and replace the battery with a Sony VTC4 which can safely push up to 30amps, not saying nothing could go boom, but the likeliness of it happening then are drastically reduced. Same instance on a mech with an RDA with the same specs can happen the same. Mechs are considered a more advanced unit than most regulated devices on the market for a reason, need to research everything you are doing with them before throwing down that firing switch when it comes down to a mech, semi-hybrid top cap connection mech like the 49 or Tugboat, yeah, I'll tell ya leave the tanks alone, any mech with a positive connection pin, not so much.

As with anything you have to do your own research before taking the jump and know what you are doing is all.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Yonzy. Glad to have you here!:)
Just having an ego for now will get me off cigs witch means I'll save so much money. (Main reason I wanna quit).
If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below is a blog by ECF member @Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.
Here are a few more links from New Members Information <= Link covers many topics. Here are two of them:
Nicotine

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

eLiquid/Juice

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick. Often labeled just "Glycerine"

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Some juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG.

Subox mini is a good setup but I wouldn't recommend mods with 18650's for newbies unless you fully understand ohm's law and the limitations of your batteries, improper use could lead to bad results..

I'd get something like the Eleaf iStick 40w TC and a Subtank mini instead, it has a built in battery, less things to worry about and since it uses micro usb to charge most people will have a charger if you forget yours and it will work with portable battery banks to charge.

Once the life of the battery is over, doesn't that mean I'll have to buy another iStick? If so, how long until that happens? Some people say Eleaf after I while it just lights by itself...
