ive been lurking here a little and this forum inspired me to go out and find myself a joye510; so me and a friend went in on cignot's $35 kit ($40 with shipping, $45 with extra charger) to see if it was something we would like. i got it yesterday and love it (still havent givin my friend his half yet).

my problem is what do i do now?

i have 1 battery, 1 atomizer, 1 charger, and 3 cartriges.

im assuming some juice is in order but what about extra batteries/atomizers/carts? im thinking about just going back to cignot and ordering another $35 kit for myself and asking them if they can sub out the charger for a passthrough (either car or USB, matters not to me), then getting some juice from links from some of the other help-a-noob threads.

anything im forgetting or going overboard with?

For any e-cig, you should have 2 attys and 2 batteries at a minimum. One battery can charge while the other is in use.

My atomizers have a tendency to go bad in batches. I expect them to last between 1 and 2 months. Some people have gotten months of usage from an atomizer. However, it could go bad tomorrow. Especially with new user error as a factor. As a new user, I advise you to always have at least one extra on hand. I have 10 in reserve after a bad experience of blowing up 7 attys in one week. (Found out why they were shorting, and fixed the problem, but now, I'm stockpiling.)

A 30ml bottle of juice is a great start. This will let you know how much juice you consume weekly, without your running out unexpectedly. So, if in two weeks of use, a third of a bottle is gone, you know you vape approximately 5ml of juice a week. Some users say they vape between 1.5 and 3ml daily. This is a "your mileage may vary" issue and you need to find out for yourself what type of supply you should have in reserve.

Don't over order on juice to start, however. Your taste buds will change, and what you like today, you may not like in a month.

As a rule of thumb, always assume that your order will be lost if you wait until the last minute to place it. I always have more e-cig supplies than I need and make it a point to budget for weekly purchases of juice, attys and batteries.

I've heard really great feedback on Cignot from members on the forum. However, if money is an issue, get a 510 passthrough, $12.95 from LiteCigUSA.net for the PT only or a disposable from MadVapes.com for $9.95. The disposable is only guaranteed to charge 3 times, but like many people I'm up to 30 charges plus on this battery. It comes with an Boge atomizer, battery, USB charger and 2 or 3 cartridges. The PT comes with an inline battery and no atomizer.

This will give you the cheapest bang for the buck and give you time to buy supplies if money is an issue.

Since I'm a 401 user, I felt I was splurging by getting a 510, and these were the options I chose to cut the cost down.

So, to summarize, at least one more battery, atomizer and charger. 30ml of e-liquid, until you know what your consumption levels will be and if you like the liquid.

If the FDA wins the suit to ban e-cigs, get a box mod, as many extra atomizers as you can and juice.

is there a way to edit my posts so i dont have to double post?

i meant to add a big thanks for any advice. i know this is the 3rd or so identical thread on this page and im sure they all say the same thing but thank you for taking time to help

You'll be able to edit once you have 15 posts (don't quote me, it may be 17.)

Valkerie brought up a lot of good points. There's only one point where I'd suggest a bit of a different tactic...

Instead of a 30ml bottle of juice, try several small sample bottles. (And try from different sellers too, especially the ones that make their own. For example, myfreedomsmokes has a 25% off sale right now, and they have 6ml bottles. Many other popular vendors out there too, as you've seen.) There's a lot of variation in taste and it's hard, nay impossible, to predict exactly what you'll like; it's a real bummer to buy 30ml of something you end up finding nasty.

If you get juice from Cignot, for instance, try some of their PG juices, VG juices, and the Ecopure (mmm...the ecopure english toffee is off the hook amazing) in small bottles to start.

The PCC is just as useful as the passthrough, IMO, but people are divided on that issue. :)

You can purchase 510 atomizers and batteries from other sellers as well without having to buy the charger in the kit. (One example: Electronicstix.com is having a special on five Joye510 attys for $41.95 or 3 for 24.95 plus 10% off with ECF10 coupon code. I've always had very fast shipping from them. Oh, and they just added some new Rath juice, mmm...waffle.)

I'm paranoid about the FDA, so I stock up on attys and DIY nic juice. (Not quite as much as some people do, though...)

I just took a look at their website, and they have a couple good options for you. there's the pcc kit and the passthrough kit. Either one of these would get you some extra goodness without doubling up on chargers. If you spend most of your time chained to a computer, the passthrough seems like the way to go. If you spend a lot of time out and about, the pcc is a godsend. My pcc is the MVP of my ecig arsenal. But, then again, I travel a lot. And spend a lot of time in bars. Either way, you're going to want to get some juice to go with that, and it's a really good idea to get a bunch of different flavors to start with. Myself, I got into the sweet flavors at first, but went back to the tobacco flavors after a month. I've always been a fan of camel, flue cured, and 555. Starting with some 5ml bottles and seeing what works for you is probably a good way to go.

Hope you stick with it.

Yeah, you definitely want to have some extra batteries and atomizers on hand as well as enough juice (or pre-filled carts if that's your preference) to keep you going in between orders. The main thing to keep in mind is that you can't run to the convenience store to pick up supplies like you can to buy smokes. A good supplier will usually get an order to you within a few days, but you don't want to be caught unprepared.

Buying extra 510 kits is a great way to go. I bought one and once I decided I really liked the 510, I bought another. And then I bought two more! It was an awesome price for what I needed: more batteries, more atomizers and more chargers. So now I always have a few batteries charged and a few in the chargers. If I head out for the day, I take a small bottle of juice, a spare atomizer (just in case) and a few charged batteries. I also have the car adapter, so I can take a charger along too if I think I might need it.

E-liquid can be a tricky thing because you've got nic strength and flavor to consider and there are also differences from one seller to the next. You've already got some high strength carts if you got the kit from cignot, so whether you like the taste of those or not, you can probably at least get an indication of your nicotine mg needs. If it's way too strong, try a low strength. If it's a little too strong, try a med. If it's just about right, stick with high strength. Once you get the hang of things, though, you'll likely find you want a variety of strengths on hand for different times of day.

You're on the right track. You'll need another kit. If you get $59 worth of stuff you get free shipping - get some juice.

so i ordered a few bottles of juice in all varieties of strengths and flavors (even smoking analogs i bounce around between normals, menthols, and fruit-flavored cigarillos), also a USB charger instead of pass-through so i can also use it to charge in my car (complicated set-up), and 1 extra battery.

so im thinking i need a few more batteries and a few more atomizers, but im kind of on a budget right now. is this something i can put off for a few weeks or will i need spares sooner than that?
