hey fellow vapers, I have been using this batteries for 3 weeks now and some time ago my mod got extremely hot dude to my rda shorting, this happen recently, I got skeptical and haven't use it since then. I recently looked at the batteries and notice the plastic on them is melted and I can see the expose metal, are this still safe for use? Should I travel to a volcano and toss this evil things before they kill us all?

If they have gotten hotter could of they exploded right there and then???
I couldn't tell from your pics what specific batteries you have. Today's IMR / INR batteries are safer chemistry and generally won't "explode", but they can and will vent extremely hot gas...hot enough to melt the insulating wrap on the cell.

Hard shorting a battery is a dangerous thing...leading to thermal runaway. This creates a lot of internal heat and damages batteries; the battery releases all of its energy within seconds. With a safe chemistry battery this heat and energy is released as hot toxic gas.

The point here is, does you mod have adequate vent holes to allow this gas to escape? If not, the mod can become a bomb.

Consider those batteries damaged beyond repair. Drop them off at a Radio Shack or Home Depot for proper disposal.
