Help! Battery question.

Okay, so I'm in the process of building my mod but I've realized I know NOTHING about batteries

I don't have any protected li-ion's laying around. I have standard, not rechargeable AA's laying around atm. Are these safe to use until I get my protected batteries?

you will need a minumum of 3 running in series, 4 will work better. Less than that is not enough to fire your atty..

You're the bearer of bad news. My last battery broke about 7 hours ago and it's been a mad dash to get everything and build this mod lol...

I really, really need my nicotine.
