Help befor I toss in the towel

This stuff makes you want to have a smoke and a drink . The photo is board I'm using for my vv.
Was trying to hook it up and having problems, I know the out +and - gets hooked up to the atty connectors + and - what about the in + and - ? I tried - to bat. + to switch no good.
I just tried without a voltage indicator, what is best way without the volt indicator...thanks.

Think I'm going to stick to 3.7 mods

I would think neg. from batt to neg in on board, pos from batt to one side of switch, other side of switch to Voltage in on board.
