Help! Breaking down 1000ml into smaller bottles for storage

I purchased 2 1000ml bottles of 36mg nicotine in VG from RTS Vapes with the intention of breaking it down into 8oz amber glass bottles for storing in the freezer. The nicotine and the bottles both came yesterday, so I immediately set to rebottling the nic base into the bottles and put all but 2 oz of it in the freezer. So far so good. This morning I got to wondering and now worrying. I didn't shake the nicotine base before transferring it. Should I have? Would the nicotine have been fully incorporated into the VG when I received it, or would it have settled, or not even been fully mixed by RTS when then shipped it?

I'm feeling the urge to warm everything up and dump it in a bowl and make sure it's thoroughly mixed before rebottling it. Should I, or am I okay just leaving it?

I'm a complete noob at DIY, but my husband has very simple tastes when it comes to what he vapes. He likes cherry, and only cherry, he uses 36mg liquid, and he can only use VG as he has an allergy to PG. This seemed like it was going to be a fairly straightforward undertaking when I first started thinking DIY for him. Now I'm not so sure. I don't want to harm him, quite the opposite!

I'm not going to tell you what to do but I'll tell you what I do. I buy 500ml of 100 mg/ml Nic in VG. Before I repackage mine in 60ml Amber Glass bottles, I give the 500ml bottle a vigorous shake. Not sure if it's necessary, but with 100mg/ml I'm not taking any chances.

If you decide to thaw them out to recombine and shake. I'd just let them come to room temperature on the counter first before opening to avoid any water from the air condensing into the Nic VG mix.

Not a perfect answer, but you could test the nic in the bottle you left out. If it tests to 36mg, then it probable to assume the others also have 36mg. Odds are they got shaken some in transit.

That's exactly what I'm going to do. I just ordered a test kit, which I should have done to begin with. The bottle I left out was one of the last that got filled. I'll test that one and a few of the 8oz bottles. If they all test the same I'll feel comfortable. If not, I'll pull them all out and mix them together.

I stick everything in a vibrating bullet tumbler and let it run for a few hours.

That's exactly what I'm going to do. I just ordered a test kit, which I should have done to begin with. The bottle I left out was one of the last that got filled. I'll test that one and a few of the 8oz bottles. If they all test the same I'll feel comfortable. If not, I'll pull them all out and mix them together.

I put it in the dryer. It gets a good mixing and comes out April fresh.

I have tried shaking bottles of VG base and could see no visible effects such as the bubbles you mention Wings.
Again, as thick as 100% VG tends to be it's hard to see where any separation of the constituent ingredients could even occur in the first place.

I can imagine shaking say a 120ml bottle of VG but a 1000ml bottle, definitely a 2 hand process. What does a 1000ml bottle weigh, has to be huge?

Maybe take it to Lowes and ask them to put it in the paint shaker.

Wings always has great info. One of the first sources I look for on DIY.

Anyone using the word Bro, especially with an exclamation point I tend to pass by.

Let it warm to room temperature then put it in the microwave giving it 5 to 10 second bursts and keep checking it until it warms just ever so slightly and thins to a shakable consistancy. The idea is to warm it and not heat it up so much that its hot to the touch. It will thin to almost the consistancy of water I do this all the time.

Is it really a necessary thing to do danny? With a base from the manufacturer that is, or is this more of better safe than sorry practice?

I would say no with PG, PG you can just let it warm to room temperature and shake. But VG I would not want to take a chance that the NIC pooled to one area of the bottle. I would want to make sure my NIC was distributed through the entire bottle. You never know and why take a chance. And as mentioned before you can also test it before you actually use it. I test all freshly open bottles.

Edit:

I just had a flash back from my steeping discussions. If the microwave intimidates you then fill a crock pot with water at very low temp and sit the bottles in it and wait a little while checking the consistancy often..
