I'm new to vaping and have a Templar mechanical mod ,with a tank, and 3.2 V high drain battery. (Sorry if I left anything out, I'm new!)
It produces decent clouds but lacks a lot of flavor.

I'm looking to buy/make a new one on a $100-$150 budget. Love intense flavor (3-6 nic content) I don't care about clouds, but a lot of friends do, so it would help!

Any suggestions on builds would be great!

What's the resistance of the coil in your tank? What's the PG/VG ratio of your juice? If you can be more specific with the type of tank, that can help us help you.

Some tanks/toppers are better suited for cloud production; others are "flavor-oriented". If it's a rebuildable tank, you might consider upping the resistance of the coil a little bit - you might be running too hot. Some juices "fade" if the heat's too high....

The mech mod in and of itself isn't going to do much about the flavor. Flavor and cloud is based on the tank and its capabilities.

1: "3.2 V high drain battery" sounds strange.
Standard battery type used for vape is "IMR" 18650 battery; typically 2000mah, and nominal voltage is 3.7 volts; fully charged is 4.2 volts; discharges down to 3.2 volts and should not be discharged much lower than that otherwise it gets damaged

2: $100-$150 sounds like a LOT

For $150 get a temperature controlled mod like the ipv4 or snowwolf. These are the way the market is going now. That way you won't have to spend another $100 in 6 mos to get what you want.

Flavor comes from your tank (atomizer), you didn't say what you had but since you said it produces decent clouds I'm assuming it's a sub-ohm tank of some sort. This will work well on a TC mod.

You'll be able to vary the temp to the point where you get the most flavor from your vape.

GL and vape on.

The vape was a gift from a friend who wanted me to stop smoking cigs, so I don't know a whole lot. Sorry!

I checked and the Battery is: IMR18650 3.7V 38A LI-MN High Drain Rechargeable Battery

The Tank is: Aspire (it says CE on the inside and is 100% silver with a clear tank) Aspire Atlantis Tank - $38.00 : Everzon, Vape Business Wholesale Center (found it!)

The juice I'm currently using is:
Enigma Coil-Oil PG %40 VG %60
I also have:
Bluberry Lemonade PG %50 VG%50

I don't really know anything about the coil

I guess I'm wondering what can I do to increase the flavor / cloud size (not needed). Can I amp up what I have? Or make a new one?

Thanks for replying! :)

With a mechanical mod the only way to "fine tune" your vape is to install/build a different Ω coil.

With a high vv/vw regulated mod (and its buck/boost circuitry) you can "fine tune" with a push of a button. And on a mechanical mod your voltage drops as you vape, with a regulated mod this does not happen. Your first hit is just as good as your last hit.

Would installing/rebuilding a new coil make a big difference? Is it crazy difficult?

Or

Is what I have so messed up I should get a new one like the high vv/vw regulated mod?

Ok like I thought, you already have a sub-ohm tank. I stand by my original post. If you want to spend $150 get a TC mod. If you don't want to spend that much get a variable voltage/variable watt (vv/vw) like @Susan~S suggested or get an RBA so you can adjust your ohms through the coils.

You are currently vaping at 4.2V and then dropping in voltage as you continue to vape. You have absolutely no way to control the flavor with the setup you have.

You cannot(Yes, I know you can but he can't so shut up) build a new coil for this tank. It's not set up for it.

Your rig is not messed up. It just isn't suited to do what you want to do with it.

But you have choices, either a new regulated mod with the same tank or a new RBA/RTA with the same mod. Either will get you to flavor city, but if you have the money to spend I'd go the new mod route.
