Hello and Welcometo ECF.
What setting do you have the device on? What tank and coil are you using? Is the airflow on the tank open?

The more detailed information the better the answer we can provide you. Pictures of the screen(on) would also help.
Let us know, there are lots of people here to help you, ask all the questions you need to.[emoji106]

When you prime a new/unused head by thoroughly saturating all exposed wicking material with e liquid, fill the tank, set the power level, press the fire button & inhale it should produce vapor, not smoke.
You might be confusing folks because it can produce smoke if you burn dry wicking material, which is a bad thing, do not inhale if it is producing smoke.

If it is reading .148Ω most likely you're using the .15Ω t8 quad coil. Starting with a fully saturated head 50w might be a good starting point, gradually increase power to find what you like best.

The whole set up is for a direct to lung inhale style (a wide open airflow deep, hard, fast inhale) if you're trying to mouth to lung (a restricted slower & smooth airflow inhale style most commonly associated with smoking a cigarette) it is going to be harsh & produce little vapor.

Pg/Vg ratio & nic mg/ml will play a part in vapor production & harshness also.

I'm a bit confused by your post, too. If it's not vaping well or overheating then yes the question is, are you actually burning the wick in your coils.

As Topwater Elvis described, you need to prime your coils thoroughly and get them saturated. Also, check your airflow settings, if you don't know what that is, refer to a youtube video review/demonstration concerning your tank. Reviews can be helpful for getting to know your equipment not just figuring out what to buy. It should show you your mods features and how best to use it. Juice may play a role, higher VG content tends to produce bigger clouds. I'd think you'd want something at LEAST 70 VG if not more.

Heck, also, please read some threads about battery safety and charging and etc. Mooch's blog can be a good place to start. Mooch's blog | E-Cigarette Forum

If all else fails, go to a brick and mortar vape shop and get help. I say that because it sounds like you are new to vaping and sometimes in person help can be the most useful when trying to get your gear up and running.

Welcome to ECF and good luck!

Might help to watch the below tutorial videos for the mod.

Make sure you know what "mode" you are in: Power (wattage) or Temp Control. Some coils will only work well in one or the other mode, depending upon the type of wire they use like kanthal, stainless steel, or nickle. I'm not familiar with whatever tank SMOK provides with their mods or what coils go with them, so I'll step away and let others who are familiar with it offer advice. You do have to "prime" the coils before you use them; make sure you understand what that entails.

There are no Smok coils that can be used in tc. If the device has not kicked you out of tc you will have to do it manually. Sounds like your coil wasn't primed and you may have gotten a dry hit. Could also be the juice you are using. Read the box the kit came in and tell us the name of the tank. Read your juice label and tell the nicotine mg it shows.
