I got one of these to try out, being new to the whole vaping thing. I figured it made sense to be able to install a new coil/head when they burn out instead of just buying new CE4 tanks.

I've been using CE4's for a couple of weeks, have several for different liquieds, and understand how the wick brings juice up to the coil/atomizer. This new one has really short wicks that are up near the top of the tank, so how does that work?

I think I understand that as long as they get dipped in juice once in awhile they'll continue to wick juice to the coil, is that right?
Maybe someone could explain the difference and how we got to this new style of tank.

Thanks!

The first top coil clearomizers were made with short wicks and people were getting dry hits so some manufacturers started making long wicks for the same clearos. Then some of the same problems were occurring and some people went back to short wicks, some sweared to the long wicks. :D Here's the problem with dry hits on top coils:

A PBusardo Rant & Review - Vision eGo Clearomizer V3 (long wick) - SnG Vapor - YouTube

The 'solution' was bottom coils and wicking - Kanger T3's, tabac bcc, evods, MT3's, protanks and the T3S.... no more waving.... lol.

Thanks Kent.
Almost couldn't sit thru the vid. LOL.

I'll try them, see how they work out. Probably end up going to something else - short wicks and 1.8oHm coil is probably not gonna do it.

I'll see if I can find some of the ones you listed. The plain-jane CE4s have been working just fine for me, but I find they leak sometimes and you get a noisy vape. I take the tank off, blow it out, flick it dry, and dry the bat terminal. That fixes them. Unless you lay them down. LOL.

The best news is I haven't had an analog for a week. Whoot!

EDIT: BTW, would you recommend different wicks for them? I got a few extra heads with this one.

I no longer do top coils but when I did, I ended up clipping off the long wicks and made sure the short wicks kept wet... ie. turning it upside down when needed. The 'capillary action' that was supposed to work with the long wicks didn't keep up with the vaping.

Really you DON'T need long dangling wicks...all you need is just enough outside the coil housing to wick the juice to the coil..otherwise drippers wouldn't work.

Plus..all that extra wick takes up valuable juice space!!

Say after me:

Ok...now remember to swish and flick...swish and flick :p

Got my EgoD tank today and tried it out with my favorite juice. It just does not produce the same cool vapor nor volume as a standard CE4. It sizzles too, not quiet like the standards. I'm so disappointed. It's heavy too. Guess I'm just gonna stick with regular clearomizers. :(

The vendor I have for the CE4-C rebuildables does not have the higher resistence coils, may be a few weeks. I think the one that came with it is a 2.3 ohm but it's just too hot. Again, back to regular CE4's
