Hi, I started using an e-cigarette 2 weeks ago, one I got from E-Lites.co.uk. I need to re-order some refills and I'm wondering whether I should, or change to another e-cig that you can top up yourself ??

My experience with the e-cig hasn't been the best, I've found that each refill only gives about 10 good puffs (if even), and is def not like 10 cigarettes as stated. So with a full charge, a new refill, and only 10 decent puffs I'm not overly impressed!

I've tried reading about the different models on here, but all I can think about right now is getting a great Nicotine hit, and not going to the shop to buy real cigarettes, so it's all a little overwhelming and confusing!

What I need in a cigarette.....

1. A good & realistic hit with plenty of vapour!
2. Price - Both initial and runnning cost!
3. Decent battery, I don't want to charge it after every use!
4. As light and cigarette like as possible ("As possible" being the operative words, not so much so that it is pure crap!!!)

I really need to not go back to smoking so any help would be great!!!!

Any cigarette-sized battery is going to need frequent recharging. They just aren't big enough to hold a charge more than a few hours. If you prefer a cigarette-like battery then I recommend the Volt: Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Starter Kits

Otherwise; if you like to charge a battery once a day then an eGo or Riva is a good way to get started.

I love my ego 650 passthrough batteries. I vape like a madman and only have to charge them once a day. They have the industry standard 510 and an ego connection.

I'm running resurrector cartos from CCV right now. It's the best hitting 510 carto I've found. I'm not sure if you can get them in your neck of the woods.

Somewhere out there
Check out Liberty Flights UK, they have everything you need, see the forum suppliers link, they are there and I hear good things about the ego passthru, charge and vape at the same time how cool is that! Good luck and there are others that are slim ecig like, I use Halo's G6 which a fantastic, (link in forum suppliers also) but they do need charged more often, but very light and cig looking, warm vape and cartos last a long time, just buy e liquid to add to them after you vape. I add a couple drops after each vape to keep them moist. bnrk

Any "mini" model like you have is going to be very inconsisent with a weak battery.

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

For a good "beginner" model, I would go with one very similar to the suggestion of the ego, but better IMO because the ego is only 3.4 volt. I would suggest you look at the Riva 510 or the E-Power 510 which are 3.7 volts and will last about 5 hours on a charge. If you still find they don't do the trick, then look into a good 5 volt or variable volt model which will be a very big improvement over what you have or the ego types in warmth of vapor and consistency. And some models in this line will hold a charge for 21+ hours of heavy vaping. I would also strongly suggest to use manual batteries (small button) over auto batterys for much better performance, control and safer. For better throat hit, try some eliquid in the 24mg nicotine strength level and fill your own cartomizers. Dual coil cartomizers will give you warmer vapor. Here are some good sites to look at, with one being in the UK:

These are the size of a slim cigar or a sharpie:

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - E-Power

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

Very good 5 volt model:

Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

Very good power regulated, variable wattage model:

Nhaler

Don't worry. Starting is difficult. It is difficult to settle in a favourite and economical brand. Check for electronic cigarette starter kit . I am sure you will find a good one. Try few models and then decide which to stick on. I have tries tens of the thing before finally settling into my favourite brand.
Best of luck.

With the majority of the models this supplier offers, it would be difficult. I would recommend sticking with suppliers that are well supported on ECF, instead.

Thanks for the help guys... although I really want a model that looks as close to a real cigarette as possible, my experience with the crappy one I have & the endless comments that agree with
Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance
I think I'm going to go with the Riva 510, as I can't afford to end up with another dud! Is Liberty Flight UK the best deal for a Riva 510 @ £34 with no juice?

Wow, that's pretty bad. Congrats for sticking with vaping even with such difficulties. If my first e-cig had been that bad, I can only hope that I'd still have enough interest to go search out more information like you did. Hopefully the Riva will work out better for you (I don't see how it could not be :D).

Thanks, although I couldn't have done it without my new found enthusiasm for baking muffins, cakes and cupcakes.... Tesco's 1/2 price apple pie & 1/2 price ice cream offers (though I will not admit to having bought 4/5 of them in 2 weeks).... Poundlands multi bags of chupa chup lollies, multipacks of extra gum, boxs of malteasers, and emmmmm Tesco Value tubs of grapes (£1.20 for grapes, bargain!!!)

LOL, so at this point, it is either face the fact that I am going to go up a dress sign, and pretty soon I'm guessing, or....
1. Go to the shop and buy some cigarettes *sigh*
2. Find a better e-cig !

I'm hoping the Riva 510 will be an e-cig I can use almost as much as the 15-20 a day I've smoked for the past 10 years, as I do not wanna turn into a complete rolly polly before heading home for Christmas !!! Also know I'm going to be around a lot of smokers over Christmas, so hoping the Riva 510 will be good enough for me to puff on, and not take a real cig of someone!!!

Also wouldn't mind getting my sanity back if the Riva can do that!!! *sigh* Day 15! Day 15!

Hey, I lost 68 lbs about 3 years ago and gaining weight was one of the things that scared me about getting of the cigarettes (stupid and vain, I know). Anyway, when I first got my go-go I actually lost a little weight. I guess I was so busy vaping I didn't think about snacking. I gained the few pounds back plus 1 or 2 of their friends, but Thanksgiving has to take a lot of blame for that. LOL! Back to the gym with me!

Hopefully once you get a good set up the weight gain won't be an issue, and even if it is, it's probably worth it to get off the analogs. Good luck!

Now you can stalk your mailcarrier like alot of us do waiting for shipments!

I think my post man is already scared!! I've been waiting on a cheque in the post, as well as all the lovely xmas presents I've ordered for people! Today I opened the front door for him as his hand was half way through the letter box!! I guess tomorrow, I'll have the window open encase he has anything not fitting through the letter box and that way he'll know I'm in & I wont miss a certain special vapour producing device!! lol ... I need to find a life!!!
