Help! Charging 510???

Just received my 510 TITAN and for the life of me cannot seem to "get" the directions for charging. The pictures don't match my charger and the battery just seems to "float" in the hole. (This is embarassing). The directions in wording are broken english (china) and I don't think I'm charging it right. The light on the charger started out green and remains green with the battery in the way it shows...Help! I am a newbie who loves my Green Smoke brand and wanted to start collecting a couple others based on reviews here. I am normally not stupid but feel it right now! Don't want to wait 8 hours with an uncharged 510!

I think the battery should screw in. I have the Joye510 and the battery screws into the charger...hope this helps

You need to screw it in.

If it's like my 510, the threaded end on the battery should thread into the hole on the rounded end of the charger.

If the led on the charger goes red, it's charging. When it's green, it's charged.

What type of charger is it?

Wall charger with plug, round at one end, squared off on the other? If you you have to screw the battery in. If you've done that and the light is still green, then your battery is already charged - the 8 hours charging is old tech for nicads and these are lithium batteries - ie. when the light in the charger is green, you're good to go.

If you have a spring type charger - it doesn't screw in, you just push it in until the light turns red, but again, if the batt is charged it will still show green.

Another type is a usb corded - those screw in too and blink green and red when charged, but only red when charging.

Okay, that all makes sense of course, I expected something like that but the charger is just an open hole in a box that and the USB with cord into the wall. It is not a tight fit, nor are there threads to screw it in. The battery just sort of floats. I'll check it out again for the umpteenth time, anxious to check this guy out when charged!

Where'd you get the kit? And which kit?

HA! Though there are no threads to screw (seems like a sort of cheap "made in china" charger) I just rolled it around a few times and the light just turned red when it hit a certain spot! Weird, not very solid, but I will assume it's charging! Thanks! I ordered a starter set from Green Smoke that works great (though I'll be topping off carts) with a solid screwing in charger...guess this one stumped me...ha! So now off to play chemist with the new flavorings and e-liquid I'd ordered with my 510. I got my stuff from Totally Wicked (US branch) and except for the charger issue (my idiocy) was impressed with packaging, customer service, E-liquid choices, etc. Their branch is in my city so I got the items in 2 days! How cool is that? So far I LOVE them, I was about to run out of carts on the other brand with no liquid to refill! Have not smoked a cigg since last Saturday morning! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Sounds like the charger is defective. I'd say you should call or e-mail TW and tell them about it, and see if they'll replace it. I'm guessing they will.

Still not sure what you have. Earlier you said:

So you likely don't have the 'wall charger' but either a usb charger or perhaps a PCC. If it's the usb charger (which except for the non-corded type) the only type I've seen has screws, but it might be a 'clamp' type where if you shove it in a bit more it should grab the battery - but don't force it too much. IOW, the battery would just lay there - it would be secure. If that's not the case then I'd email TW or PM pillbox38 (I think is his ID) and inquire.

If you happen to have the PCC then just close the lid ;-)

Just a clarification on this thread. The 510 charger I was questioning IS a wall charger, I didn't mean to say usb cord with it. I have since adjusted!
I just wasn't expecting such a loose connection, there don't seem to be any threads in there, you just roll the batt around a bit until it turns red...since first post I have charged my 510 batts w/o issues. And so often I now smoke the penstyle (drip only, carts suck) while waiting for the "Chuck"! I'll just not wig out so fast with different chargers without investigation!
