Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on a DIY rda project, and I need some dimensions and help regarding the 510 connection.

This is what I know so far regarding the 510 threading:

  • Thread Diameter: 7mm
  • MM Pitch: 0.5

I would love to know how tall (length) the 510 section should be. I also want to know the diameter of the hole that goes through the 510 connection.
As far as the contact screw is concerned: I read that Tobh uses something equivalent to a M2.5mm x 6mm screw. Now, I would love to get confirmation, or more information on the matter. I would also love to know where I can get some contact screws, preferably brass ones that are the same style as the Tobh's or Vulcan's.
Lastly, I want to know what kind of insulators are used for RDAs. What are the dimensions of the insulator that goes around the contact screw, and inside the 510 connection? Also, the dimensions for the insulator that hold the positive post inside the base of the RDA. Again, I would love some sources on good insulators for both the positive post and contact screw, ones that will resist high temperatures, so that they won't melt.
Please feel free to add any information you feel is useful, especially if there's something I'm overlooking in the matter.

Thank you for your time,

Cheers

Everything you need can be found at Fat Daddy Vapes.

Not really. They do have positive screws to purchase, but that didn't address any questions from my post.
I appreciate the link, though. I can use these screws once I have everything else I need to make the RDA prototype. However, if I make a production run, I wanted brass screws, if possible, and with better pricing. Although, I'm getting ahead of myself, I need all the specs, dimensions, and materials to make my RDA first.

Cheers

I should have simply said;

Measure what you own.
Buy more if needed and measure.
Model prototypes from existing products.

Dang it, I was trying to avoid this subject, that is, I don't own any devices.

Long story short: I quit smoking three years ago, started to vape to keep my craving for cigarettes at bay, succeeded; I've been passionately following the vaping industry; I've taken a particular interest in RDAs after trying them at a vaping convention; I decided to dedicate my time into a passion project (designing and building an RDA).

So, in a nutshell, I have nothing to measure, and I don't have the luxury of buying RDAs to simply take them apart, which still won't help me in figuring out a number of the questions I asked in this post. I figured that maybe some mod makers and RDA creators might be able to chime in with some information and much needed dimensions.

Thanks anyway
