Help for a DIY Rookie...

Alright, here's my master plan... looking for some feedback to see if I'm missing anything. Here's what I have and what I'm getting:

• 60ml of 100mg/ml Un-flavored Nic juice
• VG (Humco brand easily available at Walmart)
• PG (125 ml)
• LorAnn flavors are easily available at a local bake shop
• Five 60ml glass bottles w/ dropper
• 400ml beaker
• 50ml beaker
• Three 3ml syringes
• Three 10ml syringes
• Vast assortment of dropper bottles for my final mixes

My *plan* is to (for a 80/20 PG/VG 20mg/ml mix):

• Dump the 60ml of 100mg/ml nic juice into the 400ml beaker... carefully of course. ;-)
• Add 120ml of straight PG (no nic)
• Add 60ml of straight VG (no nic)
• Transfer mixture to five 60ml bottles and add flavoring at a later date

At that point, I'm set up to add 20% flavor and maintain a 20mg/ml strength.

Does anyone see a problem with this? Or is my math way off? I *am* a product of public schooling, you know. ;-)​

Math, ugh. Product of old math, new math, finger and toes math.
There is an ejuice calculator floating around the forum. Just plug in the amount you have - leave out the flavoring - and "PRESTO!" you're good to go. That's how I did 120ml of 100mg nic. Bottled it all up in 30ml bottles at 24mg nic.

And no, you can't borrow my fingers and toes.

do you have any names picked out for your ,

I think the math works as long as the 60ml of Nic juice is PG as well as his given 20% flavoring is PG, I just used the Breaktru method and it seems to work out.

NO seriously ... how are you going to make sure that your mixture is WELL MIXED ??
IDK how big a 400 ml beaker is.... but you can't just shake it up in that ...can ya ?

I have a 60ml bottle of 100mg also & considered doing it the way you are ..
.but after thinking about it & all the bottles and mixing space and storage... etc.
I decided it would be easier to just work out of 100mg bottle(w/syringe) & mix 30 ml @ a time .
I may be wrong ... have not needed to get into it yet ... but I will soon ...

I like Scubabatdan's spreadsheet calculator the best. Takes a little time to get a handle on it, but it has everything you can think of. I would go with the 50mg nic base over the 100mg. The reason is that 50mg is high enough to provide any nic level you want with any dilute you want and you get more dilute that way. Works out to a better deal actually.

80/20 PG/VG is a good mix. It's what I use and I'm happy with it. You can use the pure VG up to 20% without thinning it first. Though you might want to try a 50/50 or even all VG mix. In that case, you'll need to thin your pure VG with 20% distilled or deionized water first. Otherwise, it makes the final mix too thick. You can also thin with any clear alchohol like Vodka or even 190 proof Everclear for more throat hit. Keep in mind that the alcohol can react with the batting in some cartomizers and cartridges so it's only a good mix for direct dripping.

This is what I do. Just 10-15 mL's at a time. I like making small batches, especially if you don't wanna find out you have 400 mL's of bad tasting juice. I'm guessing you know this already though I don't really understand what craig is talking about though. Nic is the most expensive part of the DIY so I like to use as little of it as I need to.

The large beaker in question actually has a cover, so physically shaking it would be a piece o' cake. I'll be sure to let you know how this venture goes.
