Hi all,

I'm getting ready to post pics of my first mod! But I have one issue to solve before I do. After I soldered and assembled the 510 connector, I epoxied it in place. It is now fixed solid. However, it also has a pushed in center pin that I had not realized. So what can I do now? I can't just pull the pin up - everything is epoxied in tight. I don't think I can put a drop of solder on the center pin without melting the insulator.

Any ideas? Thanks!

The whole thing is epoxied. Here's a pic:

Basically, the 510 connector is the top of an old ego batt. I drilled a hole big enough for it and the wire to fit in. Once I had everything working, I filled the hole with epoxy, and used an old tank to help position it and hold it in place.

I'm getting power to the connector (checked by multimeter), but none of my atty's will fire, so I'm thinking the pin must be just recesses by that much.

Good point, asdaq, though none of the attys I was going to use (kraken, cobra, taifun) had holes, and I'd be reluctant to drill them, even if they are just clones.

Moot point anyway, while toying around with trying to get it to work, I managed to short it out and fried my wires together, so I have to redo it anyway.

Guess I won't be posting pics of my finished first mod today LOL. Thanks everyone for the input!
