Help getting started with ekowool?

I'm probably a little behind the times at this point, with everyone clamouring for cotton these days, but anyways... I was thinking of trying ekowool in my Novice rda builds. I'm currently using 2.5mm silica, which is fine, but occasionally I can run the wick dry with a wet deck if I'm chain-vaping. Would ekowool help with that? I also vape Bobas Bounty if that means anything to ekowool.

Also, what kind should I buy? Looking at some vendors, I see hollow vs solid vs threaded...? Which is better? I know ekowool goes by inside diameter instead of outside, would 2mm ekowool be too thick? I used to use doubled-over silica in my first builds, but I noticed that the wick got choked off at the coil when I did that. I don't mind making my coils a little bit larger as long as the wick isn't super thick.

mmm, if you want to minimize dry hits, use 3 mm ekowool? the sleeve kind, i use a 5/64 drill bit inside of it for wrapping a micro coil around it, put it in place, remove the drill bit and fit a ss mesh inside (of just a hair below the thickness of the drill bit)

works wonders for me!
