I just got my grand back after some extensive repairs made by Rob. I was having issues with the firing pin melting buttons. I never had this issue before this particular Reo so it was new to me.

I decided I was going to do everything I could to prevent it this time. I put a standard ikv 510 1.8ohm atty on it and an AW IMR 18650 1600mah. It was all going great then about 30 minutes later I smelled something. I opened up the Reo and fired it, there is smoke coming from the gap where the battery meets the firing pin. I took the battery out and I can see the button is partially melted.

I refuse to decimate it out of anger like last time so I clean the contact, use a different battery, reapply the noalox, and fire it again. Smoke and sparks.

Now I've gone through every atomizer, carto, hornet, Reomizer 2.0, etc and they all do it. I've tried orings in the catch cup, i never over tighten things (at least what I consider tight as in no wobble) and that didn't help. I measured all the atomizers 510 connection and the longest is the Reomizer 2.0.

No matter what I do it just melts the button and sparks. I've watched all the maintenance videos on YouTube, and had zero issues for a year with my other Reo.

Any ideas? I'm pretty desperate at this point.

Wow, sorry for your woes! I would call Rob. Sorry but with all the problems you've had I think it should go back to porkie land again. Good luck. You shouldn't have to be sooo careful with a Reo.

He just fixed it, I keep thinking it's something I'm doing. If this helps anyone diagnose it, I sanded the melted part of the button and put vaseline on the button where it contacts the metal pin since it's an insulator (right?) and it seems to have stopped. I'm not happy with this fix but if it gives an idea to someone great.

Still going to use it gingerly and see if it acts up again.

Sounds to me like you got a bad atomizer in the bunch . Even if you tried to short one of the newer reos you would need to really wrench a atomizer onto the mod and it would need a positive post that was sticking out way past the normal point . Since I upgraded the mods about 4 months ago I haven't had one mod short from a broken gasket . Of course anything is possible . I would toss the atomizer that you had on the mod when it happened . Your welcome to send the mod to me I can take it apart and make sure the gasket isn't damaged
