So...inspired by my vaping...my mom ordered a free trial without telling me! She put a hold on her credit card after I informed her of the scam. Well she got it today and I'm unsure what it is. She got it from direct ecig. Anyone know what it is?

Glad you were smart and had your mom get out of that trial!

If the male threads are on the cartomizer than it is probably an RN4081 but there are some smaller combinations with male-threaded cartos that rebranders use so if the diameter is the same as a cigarette then it is probably not RN4081. If the diameter is about 9.2mm then that is how thick RN4081 is. If it is Rn4081 then you can also use the Njoy Npro or Njoy 2-n-1 cartomizers some 7-11s sell.

Try some blank RN4081 cartomizers. Rebranders lie about how long carts and batteries last. A cartomizer does not last as long as a pack of cigs, and certainly not if you want to refill it and use it for longer (in which case you should not run it dry and should add juice and keep it wet inside). I love cartomizers but you do have to refill them.

Order some nice ejuices. Try ones that are PG/Vg blends because that way you will avoid the Chinese 100% PG and 100% VG juices. I like Backwoods Brew, FreedomSMokeUSA (I get 70pg/30vg when offered), Velvet Vapors (I get their Velvet Blend PG/VG)

I don't know if RN4081's are the easiest to fill. I've mostly seen videos where they seemed to using methods that implied the caps were glued on (like using a cover off a tiny paintbrush as a funnel to get the juice in). But they may have been refilling the some from a rebrander that had glued-on or hard caps (rebranders like to try to keep customers from refilling)

Search Youtube for: fill 4081 cartomizer
That will bring up several videos - hopefully one will be useful for the cartos you have which you look for more.

AzSmokeFree has some RN4081 cartomizers (battery+cartomizer is 2 piece ecig) and also sells an RN4081 atomizer and RN4081 carts (battery + atomizer + cart is 3-piece ecig) - RN4081 can be either

Vaporkings.com also has RN4081 stuff including blank cartomizers

So if you think what you have is RN4081, then search either site for RN4081 to find parts etc

I have one of those from direct ecig. They are notorious for billing your credit card for automatic shipments, something like $40 per month. If you go to their web site and use the opt out form you may avoid some of the headaches of dealing with them.

The device itself is not so bad. With an extra battery and some cartomizers is is very serviceable.

Good luck.

I wouldn't count on a credit card freeze to completely solve the problem either. I had a situation like that once where I was being billed monthly and tried to opt out -- lo and behold I get charged again the next month. So I fully cancelled the credit card altogether, paid off completely and closed the account.

Guess what, I get a bill again the following month! So I spoke to someone at the credit card company to figure out how they can charge something on an account that doesn't even exist any more. They gave me the run around:

something about, "oh, but it does exist, it was merely closed"!
Me: "well, closed is closed, how come someone can still use it to make purchases?"
Them: "because you signed something authorizing them to use it."
Me: "that's what THEY say, I'm the customer and I say no they can't, I un-authorize them!"
Them: "that's something you have to clear up with them, not us."

Anyhoo, the point is to make sure you follow up.

Good Luck!

I started with a RN4081. It can be quite decent if you're ok with the 2-3 hour battery life.

I found that even after trying cartomizers, that the Atty and dripping worked best with the unit.

I can say one absolute positive about the 4081 platform, those atomizers can take a heavy beating (as long as you NEVER run them dry), and work AWESOME with a 5v USB passthrough and 100% VG Juice. Be careful with monitoring how much juice is in them, it only takes one dry puff to burn the wick, and you'll never really get the burned taste out after that.

I still have one atomizer and the USB passthrough, even after I got rid of all the other parts. I still use it on the very rare occasion when I forgot to charge both my eGo-T 1000mah batteries, as they take 2-3 hours for a charge up.

Good luck! I wish her the best, but I have feeling she'll be upgrading soon (it only took me a week and a half to move on to a bigger battery model)
