Hi all, with several weeks of reo vaping pleasure under my belt I was driving to the airport today to head home and she just stopped working. First thought was of course battery, popped in a fully charged batt - nothing. Second thought - Atty, again grabbed a backup and popped it on still nothing.

The only behavior I have noticed that seemed slightly out of the norm was when pressing the button it seemed to push the battery down (into the bottom spring) a bit more than normal.

I know none of this isn't much to go on but thought I should at least try to ask here before reaching out to rob.

Any thoughts would appreciated!

Sounds like there was a short in your atty and the bottom spring collapsed to open the circuit. That's what it's supposed to do.

You can PM Rob to arrange for him to check over your Reo (I'd send the atty too) or you can purchase a new spring from his site.

If it were me, I'd ask Dr. Rob to give my baby a check up.

~First of all breathe.
~My husband & I are both with Mudflap on this one (although i'm sure all 3 of us have been wrong on more than one occasion).
~Whatever you do, don't try to open the Reo, or try fixing it yourself.
~ Send Rob an email or PM & he is sure to respond. Even if you have to send your Reo in to Dr. Rob, he's got a great turn around time.
~Most likely Rob will see this post & contact you.
~My heart is crying for you & if you lived close enough, i'd loan ya one of my Reos.
(of course, make sure it's on & not accidentally turned off)

Thanks all for the quick replies, now that I am home and have a few moments I am looking everything over, and cleaning up the box to see what I see.

First of all, I moved the atty in question over to an eGo battery I have sitting here, and it fired right up - so that is not the problem.

The firing pin is still there and seems to be centered and can reach the battery top. Bottom spring (bottom of box, negative end of the battery) appears to be just dandy.

I have cleaned everything up and checked the obvious and still nothing, sooooo...

I think I am going to be sending her your way Rob.

I assume its the address on the card? And what all would you like me to send, the box, cover, and thats it? Let me know and thanks so much for the quick responses and attention. I can not lie I am going to be a bit lost as the Reo (its a grand btw) has basically become my primary device all day every day.

Well it does mean the atty isnt shot....

BUT

Update is, shes breathing. I gave the atty a bit of a tighter turn than I normally do and pushed and heard the lovely hissing sound of an atty firing. So I dropped the original LR atty that was on when the problem started and it fired too. That said it might be a goner since it is not vaping like it was, so I might be going which might have set this chain of events off.

I put a new standard res atty on and shes doing well now...whew, the sense of relief is amazing, I was dreading not having my primary vape unit for the long holiday weekend.

For now things seem better, but I will keep you posted - if you want.

This does make me think I need another grand or maybe a mini as a back up ..heh..what timing since tomorrow is a sale day...hmmmm.

Thanks all for the quick help and concern.
