Well, is the center pin suppose to lift almost completely out??
My volt meter reads nothing.
Im pretty sure it has something to do with the center pin as that looks like all it could be.
So frustrating for me. I thought these little mech mods were suppose to be durable and my dad has babied this thing.

I use regulated mods, so now im afraid to do too much, i dont want to blow up the battery.
So frustrated right now

Center contact pin is loose.
That sounds like the culprit. I'm not sure if there is a way to get to the pin and repair the connection.
It should have a floating pin that connects to a wire that contacts the positive battery point.
That's where the problem lies.

Mech mods are very durable in general.
I don't have a pipe mod ( well I do have the hammer clone) and my mechs are bulletproof for the most part.
Post a pic or a link to the model you have.
I'll try to get my hands on one and I'll fit it and see how the contact can be fixed.
