Help. Kanger RTA

I have a kangrertech subtank mini been using the rta coil. I am getting a burnt taste when I vape and the cotton is new. I take it apart and look at it. The cotton is good and the coil is good. How ever one side of the cotton that isent even in the coil is all black any idea why? I'm pushing 20w on a 0.5 coil

The burnt taste could be from using too much wattage for the particular juice, but it also could be that you actually have burnt the cotton. The discolored wick ends could be a sign of that. Turn your wattage down to the 12-15W range and try again. If you still get the burnt taste, re-wick your coil.

Does your coil fire evenly, or does one side glow brighter (heat up faster) than the other. May be a hot spot?

It all seems to fire evenly. I took it apart to fill the tank uo with juice and I noticed that one side the cotton was brown and the other side the cotton was white. What would cause it to be brown?

It might be wicking unevenly or could be a hot leg on the coil. Or it could just be the nature of the juice and the airflow. As long as the cotton isn't singed or burned, it should be okay.

Google pancake wicking method. That solved my problem with the Kanger RBA.

Obstuction in the wicking channel or hole is one way this could happen. If all clear and you have made sure the terminals are screwed down tight, you have a hot leg on the coil. If it persists, scrap the entire coil and rebuild.
