Help! Looking for clearomizer/tank for 808 threaded 900mah battery

Hi all! I'm new here & have only been vaping for about a month. I started on a hand-me-down vapor4life battery that just wasn't holding a charge anymore. I upgraded to a 900mah ego battery a few weeks ago & I love it! I bought it as part of a kit that came with 5ml cartomizers however, it was way too much of a hit for me. I'm interested in getting a tank setup for my 900mah battery. Can anyone recommend a tank/clearomizer that's 808 threaded??
If not, would I be better off getting a 808 to 510 adaptor and then a 510 thread tank?
Also, I've been told I want ohms under 2.0. Does that sound correct?

Thanks so much in advance for the help!

Is your battery 510 or 808 threaded? I read your post as you wanted to upgrade the 900mah which was ego. Im confused.

Sorry for the confusion. I don't want to upgrade the battery, just the cartomizer to a clearomizer or tank. My battery now is 808 threaded. I'm having trouble finding a 808 thread tank. Would it be easier to just get an adapter to a 510? And if I did that, how's the vape quality?

Those huge 5ml cartomizers are dual coil, which means they have 2 heating coils in them instead of the more common single coil. That could be a little too much vapor and hit for you, like you said. I had some of those before I got into cartomizer tanks. They weren't too bad, I learned to take shorter weaker puffs on them. I remember they needed to be topped off pretty frequently for being a device having such a large juice capacity.

SUM TANG WONG....:danger:

I upgraded to a 900mah ego battery a few weeks ago...battery now is 808 threaded.
Concerning your currently used battery, I'm confused. You say it is an 900 mah Ego with 808 threads - sorry, I think you're incorrect, ego's don't come 808 threaded, only 510. At least to my knowledge.

Is there a 510-to-808 adaptor on that Ego battery? That's the only way it could be 808 threaded.
Can you provide a link, or tell us where you got the battery, so that we can confirm the threading?

Help me out guys, am I right or wrong? Does anyone sell Ego's with 808 threading? We need to get this part right or she'll end up buying stuff that won't fit without an adaptor. No need to do that if she can help it, right?

I think she needs to be looking for 510 threaded attachments, not 808.

V4L's hardware lineup is 808 threaded, including their tanks & cartomizers. Smokeless Image's hardware lineup is all 808 threaded, too.

If you are looking for clearomizers or tanks to put on the Ego (which I am assuming is really 510 threaded) you can get some at Altsmoke, or any online vendor. Just make sure the threading is for an Ego or 510 thread.

It sounds like you prefer a cooler vape to a hotter one. The resistance (ohm rating) of your heating coil attachments should be 2.0-2.5 ohm, or standard resistance. Anything lower will deliver a hotter vapor.

The OP has an 808 ego kit he got from V4L. I have the same kit and those dual coil carts kit like a frieght trane. The smokeless image clearomizer should work fine. V4L also has tanks but they are.dual coil also. I also recommend you look at Smoktek, they have 808/ego clearomizers which happen to be my favorite.

Yes, Vapor4 Life sell 808 Egos. As noted, the Smokeless Image clearos will be ok, they are 808 threaded too. I didn't know Smoktech sold them too - that's good to know.

ETA: I'm assuming this is the 808 Smoktech clearo - it says its suitable for 808 Egos.

You should be able to get an 808 to 501 adapter from madvapes.com.Finding anything with an 808 connection is only going to get harder and harder since the trend has been to go 501 for a couple of years now.

Actually that's not the case - more and more 808 stuff is being released now. There are several different 808 clearos and different vendors stocking 808 stuff. An adapter is fine, but there isn't a shortage of 808 stuff. It's just about knowing what's out there now.

Actually, that is the case and it has been for awhile now, your perceptions might be a bit skewed since youre an 808 fan but lets agree to call apples apples here. Try buying a mod with an 808 fitting. 501 is pretty much the universal standard nowadays and no matter how much you might wish otherwise I doubt thats going to change anytime soon. Vendors dont like to stock items that sit on their shelves for extended period of time since no sales equals no revenue. The simplest and cheapest solution is to just buy an adapter for less than 5 dollars and open a whole new world of possibilities.

Mods are a different category, and I'd agree with you on that. Although I have seen 808 mods too, but they are mainly 510. But there is more general pv 808 stuff being released all the time now. BTW - I'm not a "fan" - I have 510 mods myself. I also know that some excellent 808 stuff has come out this year and more is coming. I've also noticed more vendors stocking 808 stuff. It's not hard to find 808 stuff and the range of clearos has increased. That's just a fact.
I'm not negating what you're saying - I think adapters are a great accessory. And something that folks should consider getting because they are so cheap - 808-510 and 510-808 adapters. But if some-one just wants 808 gear for an 808 pv, and that gear is available, then I prefer to just point them to it. They don't need an adapter if the accessories are there already compatible.

:nun: My appologies for the alarm then. I neglected to look deeper into the V4L site to see that their Ego's are 808 threaded.

I sole intent was to save the OP from wasting money on something that wouldn't work. As usual, the crew here is watching out for everyone. Great job, guys.

Carry on. :vapor:

Actually, these are the ones I use.....the ones in the link above are redux version, i dont know what that is but probably would work as well.

Vision Clearomizer 2.0 for 808/eGo, Changeable Coil - 2.4Ω

These are wonderful. I have been using these for a few months and not had a single leak and no liquid ino the battery post, even if you overfill.

Nothing wrong with 808 or being a fan, there are now plenty of options. Most people like 808s cause you can get pre-filled cartos from a variety of vendors. I use a big 808 batt usually but keep prefilled in stock to use with my mini batts when i go out. I agree with larger mods/batteries there is more choice with 501, but for some including me 808 is the best of both worlds.
