And thanks ShogaNinja for the thorough description of the EGO, now I understand it. I was so confused before because some would say 510 threaded while others said ego threaded.

I think what I might do is try the vivi nova along with a couple others (maybe including the E1) to see what I like the best. The good thing is they really aren't that expensive.
I figure I spent so much money on stinkies for all those years.

i had one from vapors-choice and in a month it burned up on me my fault. you must also get the right charger for them or they will burn up. i was using a computer charger that was charging at 5v instead of 4.2v and after a month it burned up. so i will always tell newer people to get the right charger for what they have or it could be a fire problem later on. also forgot to say that vapors-choice sells out of joyetech egos really fast

quick question. i have a genuine joyetech ego rapid charger, but i didn't pick up an adapter, as I have a million and one usb-to-ac adapters laying around the house. Is this a no-no? I'm paranoid about asploding batteries now. >.>

Sorry for the further thread hijack, Lauren!

USB voltage is 5 volt DC. The wall adapters only function is to transform 110 volt AC to 5 Volt DC. The eGo rapid charger converts the 5 volt DC to 4.2 volts at 420 mA to charge the Twist. Usually the wall adapter is 1500 mA, which is fine, however if you wish to vape on a pass-through (which the Twist is not) you should use 2000 mA (or more) to ensure there is enough power to vape and charge at the same time.

Relax, Enjoy!

What to expect when charging the Twist.

The rapid charger will have a green led illuminated. When the Twist is connected, the button on the Twist will flash 4 times and go out, the led on the charger will change to red. About every 5 seconds the LED will flash green while it checks the voltage. The LED will eventually turn amber and flash green. When charged it will remain steady green.

The same charger on an eGo clone (I don't have other eGos so I can't say how they operate)- When connected the button will flash 5 times and stay illuminated. The LED will turn red and stay steady until completely charged, then turn green.

The same charger acts differently with different batteries because it uses the internal circuitry of the PV to control the charger.

you beat me to it i was using the wrong charge and the wall charger is okay with the ego charger as long as it has the right output. i was using a rc car computer charger with a output of 5v when set to single cell li-ion or li-po. in the end i did in my joyetech but now i have the joyetech charger and use it on my self built 36a 5v output power supply and could charge a bank of egos off it

You seem awful angry and opinionated. Tell me do these "name brand" versions vape better? Can you upload a video to prove it?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

Vivi Novas get schooled by the E1-V. Stop recommending inferior products, how about that?
$22 sounds cool til you see that nice shipping cost from three different companies...

Stop equating China to America. Name brands mean NOTHING there other than a selling point for a fake product. Even if those supposedly were Joyetech there would be no way to tell. China is the land of knockoffs. They all steal each others' designs and try to outsell each other. My buddy bought a spindle of fake blank CDs once. Yes, they went to the trouble of making a perfect label and then filling the plastic spindle with fake replica CDs that looked just like the real thing til you put it in your computer.

According to Tim, the owner of Vaporbeast, those Ego Twists he sells are one of the most reliable and least returned item that he sells. These are proven. I'll get him on this thread to tell you himself. Can you say as much?

Actually, if you look at the charger in question (on the 510 connection part) I think you will see a label on it that reveals that it is 4.2v output DC and 420ma. I am willing to be it was this "name brand" battery. There is no such thing as "name brands" being better in China, land of knockoffs.

:offtopic:

If you look at the charger in question (on the 510 connection part) I think you will see a label on it that reveals that it is 4.2v output DC and 420ma. That is the specs for all ego batteries. All ecig chargers are rapid chargers. Lithium ion batteries are not designed to sit at 100% charge, be charged rapidly, and they are only recommended for 300 cycles. We are mistreating this batteries at our convenience, but that is the way it must be. After 300 discharges that the voltage drops permanently and it is highly recommended by the manufacturer that you replace it. This is why I cannot recommend small battery ecigs which require multiple chargings per day. They are not nearly as likely to explode as people often fear.

If you want to know more about batteries please click on the link below in my signature and read my blog The Vaper's Handbook. About halfway down there is a batteries 101 section. You can hit Control+F to find it quickly.

That's crazy. Haven't noticed any difference with my charger (KGO charger) and to be quite honest I don't know if my twist is a knockoff or not. Don't really care.

Actually Joye has always supplied 500mA AC adaptors, and FWIW it will also work quite well with the so called eGo pass-through (which it isn't), which Joye lists as an eGo USB Battery.

Thanks Ralikar.
I have seen many posts about clones out there.
I know someone had posted the website of official Joyetech and Vision viva nova dealers but cant find it right now.

Hi Laurennmh, just google Joyetech and Visionecigar. I dont know about anybody else, but i would like to increase my odds of buying something that works. I don't know who is a salesman or who is just trying to be helpful. It seems to me that its a "buyer beware" market.
There is nothing wrong with trying something thats cheaper to save some money.....just dont buy alot until you have tryed it.

Hi ShogaNinja, Love you and Ralikar
So who makes the E1-V?

i took a 510 charger 100mah charger apart for the 510 plug off it for one of these IMAX B6 Charger/Discharger 1-6 Cells (GENUINE) the output on one li-ion is 5v not the needed 4.2 so yes it burning up was my fault not the battery.
