Help looking for the right e-cig

Because of some changes to my income and the snap program in my state, i have decided it's finally time to stop smoking, or at least stop cigarettes. I have an EVOD with a nice glass tank (aspire,) my issue is that i have nasal polyps and they stop my sense of smell. So i have never been able taste the liquid, no matter what mixture i use. Because of that i have always preferred the cigarettes. I like the e cig and all but if given the choice, because of the lack of flavor i would always grab a cigarette before the ecig.

So now i cant afford to keep smoking so i have trying to figure out why i prefer them so much, and one of the biggest ones as far as i can tell is the weight. With a cigarette you can hold it between your fingers and still use your hands, With the e-cig, it's heavy i have to puff and put it down before i can really do anything.

Now because of my taste issues and experimenting, i have 10 bottles of liquid just sitting here that i have pretty much never opened. If i could finish off that stuff it would save me about 120 dollars a month. For me (and i assume a lot of other people) That's a hell of a lot of money.

So what i am trying to figure out is, is there a really light weight e cig out there? Maybe a style that mimics the Blue or other cartridge e-cigs but still allows for refilling? Almost all of my liquid has citrus in it so it would need be glass but it seems like that would still be better then what i have now.

Also cost is an issue. It would have be on the cheaper side of things if possible.

Thanks

I started off my vaping experience with a little Joyetech 510 automatic battery, and some Kanger e-smart (I think that's what they were called) clearomizers. They were plastic though, so that won't help you. The entire setup had a cig-a-like look and feel, although I felt like it was one of those cigarette holders from the 1950's. After a week or so, I realized that I didn't care about the size or weight, so long as I was getting the throat hit.

After the ProVari/Kayfun that I use now (after a couple evolutions of vape gear), I occasionally pick up my old Kanger EVOD passthrough and clearomizer, and giggle at how light it is.

Nothing is going to be as lightweight as an actual tobacco cigarette, but you might look into getting a little 510 battery (or two, the small form factor means they don't last very long and so you'll probably want a backup for when the first one is on the charger) and some empty cartomizers. They're metal construction, so you don't have to worry about citrus flavors or other tank-cracking juices. I think (but don't hold me to this) that the BLU rechargeables actually use a 510 connection, so if you have one of those already, you might just need the cartos.

We do have a couple of the Marlboro batteries i assume they would use the same stuff. Do they make cartridges that are refillable for those? I always liked those but the things run dry too fast and they cost a ton. Plus i would like to use up what i have. These bottles don't list a ml size but if i recall each one was around 6 ml each, That would last me at least half a year. If i could find cartridges for those i would jump on that. Assuming it wasn't super pricey.

Or is there a way to add my liquid to the cartridges i already have? Marlboro are pretty self contained though. Plus they are made of that thick plastic stuff so i have no idea if the citrus would just chew through it.

No, actually, I'm pretty sure the Mark Tens (those are the Marb ones, right?) use a proprietary connection that doesn't fit anything except their own products. They don't sell empty carts for those either, but you might have some luck disassembling and refilling them yourself. If they're plastic, though, then you might still have problems with your citrus flavors. Also I do know the VUSE carts, from RJR (Camel) have a chip inside them that counts puffs and disables them after a certain amount of use. They say it's to "deliver a perfect puff every time" but really, it's there to prevent you from refilling and reusing them. I don't know if Mark Ten has the same kind of deal, or not...

I'm looking into that right now. (it is the markten.) So far it looks pretty easy to refill. It might work at least until i find something better. I know i have seen one like these that were refillable, had a glass tank on the ecig or something but it was a while ago and i haven't seen it again. My local shop only deals in evod type ones with very basic plastic tanks. They don't even mention the citrus thing and when mine finally shattered they wouldn't even replace it.

So now I'm trying to find stuff online again. Is there any kind of mod that would allow you use the ecig as a hooka sorta? Letting me puff on it while its on the table or something? I'm a gamer so i need my hands free, its always been too awkward trying to fumble with the keyboard or controller while holding the ecig. I did always like that the vapor doesn't burn up while I'm not puffing though. The ecig has a lot of nice perks if i could just get past the weight. Being able to taste it would be nice too. But that most likely wont happen until i have these things removed.

Just to update: I filled up a cartridge for the markten, it's a little slow to fill but otherwise it worked fine, no leaking. Not sure if it's actually full but it seemed to be. Each hit is pretty smooth, which i always liked. The evod i have always seemed to make me gag and cough randomly (i use 50/50 18mg) and with the markten i don't have that. Still cant taste it, but i have noticed a flavor of some kind. I used an orange flavor and to be honest it kinda taste like dirty mouth but at this point i will take it lol. I also noticed with evod it always felt like i was lacking in nicotine. I would start out ok but eventually i would start really craving it until i had to light a cigarette. With markten refill, so far i haven't felt that urge. So assuming the citrus doesn't eat the cartridge this might work out well for me.

Any idea how long they can be refilled before the coil (or what ever the heating element is in cartridges) stops working?

Once you find your setup you might consider unflavored liquid. That is really cheap. Actually unflavored is my favorite "flavor".

The way it normally works for me is they are all unflavored. Because of the no sense of smell i sorta get something but it's so weak i would never be able to name the flavor.

I am curious though, does it have any flavor at all? Or is literally like sucking down water vapor?

Might be worth checking it out though. I always found it annoying though not being able taste it. Like I'm missing out on one the major benefits to using ecigs. But i suppose it could work in my favor, maybe i will smoke less without the taste to keep me going back to the thing.

Unflavored is slightly sweet, but not overly so. The higher the nicotine content, the more of a peppery bite it will have. I think you'd be surprised at how pleasant it is. I switched to unflavored about a year ago - I never get tired of it, and it costs me about 10 cents a day.

Alot of us went threw the form factor issue. Heres what helped me You are a vapor not a smoker. Vaping is not smoking. Vaping is not the same so the sooner you get over the idea vaping should be like smoking the sooner you will be able to enjoy vaping for what it is.
You dont vape like you smoke just a drag every so often is good. The cig alike batteries are the worst preforming egigs available. I suggest you get you a small box mod it is easy to carry in a shirt or cell phone pocket.
Get you a decent tank like a Aspire Nautilus give it a little time and youll be a satisfied vapor.
Something like a MVP or a eleaf stick Genuine ASPIRE Nautilus - 101 Vape
this sight has a 15% off sale tomorrow use the code Shop Spring Sale at check out. http://www.mtbakervapor.com/advanced-e-cigs/istick-eleaf-20w-vv-vw-box-mod-by-ismoka/ Good luck I hope to see you around.
