I tried to post this so sorry if it a second time. Wel here it goes long story short My girl and I were follin aroung\d at the spur pf the moment. I had my Ego in han. and some how wound uo undernith us. When done It was sceamining hot and burnt through 300 count sheets. Thinking it was the cut off that stopped working and burned up the battery. I take the atty and put it on a Rva that I know was working and only about amonth old. ( switch out my battery'y with abuot six different ones ranging from an 2xSLB Ego, 1 Joye Ego, 2 Toyally wicked tornado, and a 2 riva batterys). So i figure that the 13 second cut off failed and put it on a working Riva and nothing (it was fully charged) the I put it on a Joye fully charged and ht the button and instant smoke (not from the atomizer) the battery housing itself. I quickly dismantled getting a slight burn in the process. What is going on. I need help. I am not nee to all this . I have built some very successful 3;7 and 5v mods with no problems at all. I am just looking for any input or advice about what happened. I blew almost about $60 worth of battery's in about 12 minutes. On the other had is there any way to bring them back or use the dead ones for mods.
ANY ADVICE WITH THIS WOULD BE SO HELPFUL. I usually search before posting and I thorough my frustration or sheer anger I can find any thing on this. Thank you in advance for any help. Live long and my you always find that special combination that is just like taking a drag of heaven.

Thank in advance to all.

It sounds like your atty shorted out your batts.

That would be my conclusion too. That smoke probably smelled like fried curcuit board too. Sounds like the atty got hot enough (and did not pop coil) to melt itself into a short circuit situation. Batts (cells) are probably ok but the protection curcuits are most likely toasted. Could have been worse the batt could have blown. Sorry for you bad luck and I hope that romp was worth it. Even years from now you will remember that one as a sheet scorcher.

I was a very hot moment in more than one way. But I tried it on two other battery's and the Riva did not even turn on when I hit the button and the Joye I just connected it and it started to fry. Is the any way to resurrect the battery's or use them for a mod. I have a lot of tools and kind of enjoy making project especially if I can recycle old battery's. Like take them apart and re build or use the parts for scraps, And thanks for the help. This Forum is the best out there. Also do you think there is some where else I should post this. and really thanks. It's peoplelike you that make this like a family with all the help and direction. If not for this forum I probably would have given up and went back to Analogs.

I fried an ego batt with a bad charger connection. There was solder flash between the inner and outer connectors and when the battery seated I had the same thing as you described. A puff of smoke and it smelled just like a fried curcuit board. The button LED light would still flash because it is not wired through the protection. It was the curcuit board that got toasted. The battery was still good. So I would imagine you could certainly use the guts (battery & connector) for some sort of FrankenMOD. Good luck and tell your girl she owes you a eGo batt.

    Somewhere between here and there
I had something similar happen with an lr306 atty. It ohmed out fine but when I screwed it onto my pv it would do nothing but the battery would get hot pretty quickly. I assume that the atty was shorted internally but still am not sure. I did throw it away though.

I am taking apart the atty now to see what the hell is going on. I put it in one of my mo0ds and it shut down the battery (thank god for protected battery's). It is a original Joye lr atty. I am also taking apart an old one to see if there is any difference. Oh and I tried to tell the woman she owed my some \new arts, she said that afternoon nookie is payment enough, I had nothing to say nothing at all.
