I am a "noob" and have been off regular cigs for 3 weeks. I have tried 3 different brands of ecigs, but the expense of the cartomizers is more then my budget can afford and I'd like to try refilling with eliquids. I tried one brand and it was terribly sweet. Of the ecigs I tried, the best flavor and feel was from greensmoke, in their full strength menthol. South Beach isn't bad, but I like the flavor and feel from the Green Smoke much better. How do I find an eliquid to match? The South Beach cartomizers can be refilled, but the Green Smoke's don't seem to be able to be opened. Any recommendations out there?

Exactly why I initially moved away from cartomizers. Price, hit and miss quality, refilling is an art form or just a crap shoot. I have since slowly come back to cartomizers with a carto tank. The flavor advantage is definitely there for them IMO. I would start with a clearomizer or vivi nova tank. I have had good luck with both and each time they redesign they make improvements. Heads can last quite awhile with regular maintenance. Also their are good things coming out about the Kanger pro tank and their bottom coil clearomizer, which I am waiting to arrive and test. Cost wise in the long haul this is a better value and more consistent for vaping.

As for liquids, it's truly trial and error. I was never a big menthol smoker but I have had my share of newports in the past. Backwoods brew menthol tasted pretty dang close for me. Do some google searches on the brand you used to smoke and take it from there. I personally have never vaped a horrible menthol.

I had an issue with stuff being too sweet when I first started too, I found the best solution, for me at least was to buy one regular tobacco flavor (in your case menthol), and one flavored flavor, and mix them together... it cut down on the sweetness a ton, but kept the flavor which eventually allowed me to get used to flavored stuff instead of tobbaco flavored stuff (which nobody can really replicate all that well). As for your cartomizer problem, I can not help... I started out with a refillable carto kit, and I am still using it 6 mos later. I replace the the carto's about once a week... they run about 2.50 each, so I just order 4 of them, once a month to save on shipping. I never tried the pre loaded ones.

Not only can it be hard to find a good prefilled carto to vape, flavor wise, but it's a fairly expensive way to vape as well. I love my carto tanks, and DIY my own juice, and don't vape your suggested flavors, but plenty do and will give their recommendations. I really only do carto tanks and rebuildables now, after six months of clearos mostly.
