Help me assemble my first DIY order??

Hey guys, so for me this is my first real break.in to DIY. Ive done everything else there is to do.in vaping I figure its time to hop on the "actually save yourself some money" train now... Im pretty sure I'm going thru TFA as my first flavoring order, so anything from there is a definite go. Here's the flavors I enjoy in commercial form...

Fuzion Vapors
Spartan Wives - Honeydew, watermelon, and "thunder fury" (i believe we have this one figured out)
Krankberry - Blue Raspberry and cranberry
Sugar Munchkin - Toughie... Peanut Butter inhale, Sugar Wafer exhale
Ectoplasm - Old fashioned early 90's Hi-C ecto cooler

Also
Pinup Vapors Lana - a sweet and tart flavor, no idea on the flavor profiles

A good pineapple coconut recipe

And good recipes and flavorings necessary for a good sour apple jolly rancher.

Also I need nic juice and pg and vg. I have 100ml of vg but I think I'll need more. Well peeps, can you help me assemble my shopping list and throw good recipes my way??

Rts vapes has the lowest priced nic imo. I get my flavors from Killer Juice as well as my vg and pg.

Don't know if you've perused the TFA thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/336110-flavor-apprentice-flavoring-thread.html but LOTS of great advice, especially from a gent named Bill's Magic Vapor. Check his blogs, as he has a nice "shopping list" of base flavors you'll want on hand. Creams, custards, vanillas, and sweeteners (Cotton Candy, Ethyl Maltol, and straight up sweetener) help round out the flavors. He also has a blog of recipes (or someone else blogged for him).

I've ordered my TFA flavors from Wizard Labs and directly from TFA. If you get registered with TFA, you can sign up for a "bulk" account which allows you access to purchasing larger sizes of flavorings (i.e. maybe the base flavors) for only a couple bucks more than smaller sizes.

I know for sure he has a banana cream recipe in his repertoire (I haven't made it yet, but it's on my list.) Other contributors have great recipes in the thread (it's LONG, but worth the read.) Re: the Ectoplasm, I think you're looking at TFA's "Citrus Punch" which used to be labeled as Mt. Dew.

I've ordered PG and VG from Amazon (usually Qt. size for about $12-14 each), but I got my nic from Wizard labs.

Recipes are guidelines, but every one of Bill's I've made so far have been amazing.

If you're "bored" next Saturday (2/28), come up to Ft. Wayne for Vape in the Fort. It's at Hotel Fort Wayne, right off Coldwater Rd and I-69. PBusardo is supposed to be here. Tix are like $5, and there's an after-party and cloud-blowing competition at a local nightclub.

as i've been reading into this for nearly 4 months before pulling the trigger i have to say it was really easy figuring out what to get. Granted i left myself with NO ceiling on price i went with Heartland for pg, vg and nic; they were the better option price and ratings / recommendation wise

Well I'm not cracking on weight mixing, hope it didn't seem like it as I've only 'diy' premixed liquid to get my feet wet, I just meant I never tried it. Is there any big differences between going by liquid volume in ml vs weight?

There is a small difference in volume to weight. HotRod's calculator will figure it for you, I'm not sure about the others. The real joy of using weight is how much easier it is, and it doesn't need all of the extra measuring stuff. I mix up a large amount of base just a little stronger than I want to end up at (for me that is 25/mg/ml to und up at 18-22) and I mix into the end bottle, so this is all I need. And cleanup consists of wiping up any drips.

I recommend Nude Nicotine for your supplies, diluting agents and nicotine concentrate. Very pure and high grade, and they have cheap mixing supplies if you decide to do volume instead of weight.


Bull City Vapor has great prices on TFA flavorings, but they don't have the full line, but they also have other brands. They've got good prices on bottles too(when they're not out of stock lol).

I just started doing DIY too and ordered all of my stuff from both companies. Haven't got to test everything I bought yet, but everything I have tested has been great.

Don't forget the bottles!!!!!!!!!! A great place to buy bottles from is ebay. If you don't mind waiting two weeks, you can get 50-100 bottles form China for $10 and under (or just slightly above). Whatever you do though, know that most bottles from ecig sites are going to be more pricey than they have to be.

To be just starting out, I recommend getting a slew of 10 mL bottles since that allows you plenty of headroom for flavoring (something that 5 and 3 mL bottles limits) and they're still small enough that you shouldn't have to pay more than 0.07-0.15 per. 10 mL dropper bottles | eBay Make sure you shop around, whatever you do, to make sure you are getting the biggest bang for your buck! Bottles are really important IMO.

p.s. 3 mL or 5 mL bottles are great for testing out flavors when you get them to see what they taste like, but not so good for making complex mixes. Eventually you can get larger bottles when you got your recipes down pat.

It's not as low as you can find form China or if buying in mega-bulk, but it's pretty good. And trust me, while 55 bottles may seem like a lot, it's not. If you plan on letting your mixes steep, you're going to need plenty of empties to keep up with your ideas and all the trial and error.

Lol it seems everyone runs out of what I'm looking for. Was the main reason I went with wizard instead of nude for my VG pg. Took me a few minutes to figure out the weight vs fluid measurement on ..... site. Bull city was down for like 2 days, just went back up early Thursday morning

It kind of depends on your wants/budget. My gf and I are at like 2mg so I got 24mg. I can theoretically make 12-24 bottles per ml if we were still on 18ish mg I'd probably get 100mg but my fridge is full of ego and meat lol. No room to store nic
