I know the new 510s are about 2 months off, but that can be #5

My current 3 are hammertone, silver wrinkle, and olive. I'm thinking for my upcoming 1 year off the smokes i need a bright one. How much difference in weight does SL offer?

With the colours I am looking at, pics really don't help me decide. But I am thinking maybe metallic red, or metallic blue, or kwakka green, or possibly orange.

I recently bought a bench drill just to convert atties, so have that covered.

I've typed this thread about 5 times and not posted now, it is probably a dumb thread. One of the only exceptions to "There are no dumb questions on vaping forums, just ask" is "Should i buy a new reo?" b/c the answer will always be resounding "yes". And taste is personal.

Maybe this thread is therapy, #4 is at least a week off being ordered.

I also need to stock up on spares, I recently had to post in the trade thread for a spring. It all worked out OK, but determined to galvanise my stash with a few rebuild kits, springs, bottles etc.

I think i am rambling, but it is a big spend that only happens... 4 times a year or so apparently

I am curious why you would need to drill your atomizer ?

Here are a couple pictures that may or may not help. On the left, a pair of 'Classic' Grands. Both are Black Wrinkle; one has a hammertone door, aluminum button cover and standard RM2. The other has a brass door, brass button cover and brass RM2. The picture on the right is a LP/SL TRA Grand. That's Low Profile/ Super Light Tumbled Raw Aluminum Grand. It has an RM5 attached.
I think you should ask yourself "What do I want from my Reos ?". If you want easy vaping, simplicity, and a smooth, cool vapor then a Classis Grand/ RM2 Combo would be good. If you want warmer Vapor, and lots of it, and you are not afraid of tinkering with your mods, then an LP Grand with an RM4, RM5, Odin or Cyclone dual coil RBA is more of what you are looking for.
Of course, waiting a weeks to decide could set you up with the new 510 connector. But if you are like me, I want what I want when I want it (still working on that)
Take your time and choose wisely.

i have 2 LP grands, and a mini. The drill is to pay $8 for an atomiser instead of $40 :)

I prefer the big dual coil builds, also modded some igo w3 quad coil to bottom feed. But my modded atomic is my goto mostly

I more meant how vivid are each colour in the flesh? i wish i was local and could go look

As said, taste is subjective... mod style, mod finish, mod color, etc. A quick look at my 8 Reo's will clue you in right away that on the 4 metal Reo's the SL style, smooth finishes and bright colors are not my thing. The only exception to any of that is my LP Grand TRA is thefavorite of my metal Reo's, and will have a LP Mini TRA to keep it company. So in my case anyway, there probably will be no SL's, and if I did get a smooth finish "brighter" colored metal LP Reo something it would probably be an all metallic blue, or a black or silver something with just the door that color. The blue not being as bright as the others. So my reply offers no help to you at all. ;)

it does actually, blue was on my shortlist. And is one of my football team's colours so could be game day reo and named "Libba"

OK, I think you are already informed then. Your vaping habits should be considered- If you prefer Mouth-To-Lung vaping, a smaller single coil is best. If you are a Lung Hitter, then large cloud making dual coils are for you (LP Grand)
As far as colors- the picture on the left has a 'flash' reflection that makes it look brighter than they actually are. The LP/SL on the right looks slightly brighter in real life, the lighting in the picture is off (darker) just a tad.

I'm a very long lung hitter... but all of my BF atty's being used on my Reo's are small footprint, most of them running single coils. I don't use any atty bigger than the Atomic (running dual coil), all the rest are RM2, RM3, VA Cyclone, IGO-S, ERA, etc size with some of them running dual coils. They get it done just fine with the right builds and drilling air intakes bigger.

[emoji651] same here. I take 5 second lung hits off my rm2 and cyclone all day long.

Getting a SL/LP will give you the option of trading doors and having a SL door on your current REO's.

With the finishes you already have in mind think of the combos you can make with each of the colors you are considering.
Hammertone and Black Wrinkle look good with any color door. The Olive would be more challenging.

A bright color like the Kawasaki Green or Orange would really pop on a Hammertone or Black Wrinkle. The Metallic Blue and Red make a good contrast with them as well.

Hope this helps! I know you will end up with just the perfect one!

Honestly, when choosing a SL I couldn't decide on a color because of my AWs, which may seem silly to some but a bright red battery in a bright green mod? No thanks. A local B&M got the Vtcs in and that made my color choice for me.
I have to admit tho, I still run the AWs in it, and the color contrast doesn't bother me at all. Great vaping conquers my OCD

If you really want a pop of colour, the kawasaki green (as above) or the orange are the most extreme choices. The metalic colours sparkle and have more depth, but are generally a little darker.

I deep lung inhale too. 75% VG 25% PG with 25mg nic. I stay around 0.4 on the dual coil builds, so will defs be going for LP.

Wow, that's this guy's vaping style (he's australian, too)...

Without trying hard I happen to have shrink wrap to fit 18650 batteries right here in black, red and white. If I tried a little harder I could come up with at least four more colors. Since the function here is cosmetic it doesn't even have to be shrunk onto the batteries - it just has to be cut to length and be a reasonable diameter.

TRA comes to mind, black wrinkle is nice but its not bright. TRA is very easy to live with and feels good.

How much difference in weight does SL offer?

I have read its quite a bit lighter for a Grand, I have a SL Mini 2.1 and a standard Mini 2.1 and the difference is not great. The SL's give lots of grip and feel good in hand, besides looking good IMO.

With the colours I am looking at, pics really don't help me decide. But I am thinking maybe metallic red, or metallic blue, or kwakka green, or possibly orange.

The metallic colours are very sparkly, moreso than a metallic paint on a car, a black wrinkle with red metallic door is borderline for a male in Oz IMO, it looks elegant/upper class, but a total red metallic is a bit more feminine IMO in Oz (depending on what generation you are too - I'm in the grandad generation so read this with that in mind). The metallic Blue I have not seen in person but it will sparkle I'm sure. From internet pics I gather its a medium blue as opposed to dark or light blue. I have a yellow door here, its a lighter yellow, not a darker yellow. I have an orange door and it is a perfect orange colour, same for purple don't ask me how I know ;) The yellow and orange are not metallic, its just the blue, red and purple that are metallic as far as I know.

I also need to stock up on spares

Rebuild kits won't likely be needed for at least a couple of years on your Reo's (unless you are running some crazy juice), but one rebuild kit wouldn't go astray just in case. The new 510's might have a different rebuild kit, maybe the same without the center pin and gaskets, or maybe not, not sure. I think the battery springs are likely to stay the same from now on, and a spring for a Mini or Grand (same spring) can also be fitted to a Woodvil if you drill a small hole in the corner.

I think i am rambling, but it is a big spend that only happens... 4 times a year or so apparently

Tell me about it ;)
