So I like my SVD, but it's a little large/long. I'd like something a little more understated. Here's what I'm looking for:

-tube mod, diameter approximately flush with a PT2
-uses 18650 batteries
-variable wattage
-ohm meter
-solid build quality
-non-telescoping if possible

What's your budget limit?

You might enjoy a Kicked or Crowned Mechanical or Unregulated Hybrid. Such a rig can give you very good regulated performance minus the 'screen', circuit board, wiring, and button real estate found typical APV units. You can get them with quite low profiles (22mm diameter). For example: My kicked Nemisis Clone is 22mm diameter (perfect flush mount match with the KayFun) X 11cm long. It's less than a cm longer than my K100 in 18650 mode with no Kick at all!

With the genuine Evolv Kick 2, I get from 5-15 watts, and can use atties from 0.5 Ohms to 3 Ohms (and it'll fire them even higher, but it might not give the full 15w range with really high resistance stuff above 3 Ohms). I can also choose not to use it at all if for some reason I want an unregulated vape (I.E. going over 15 watts with good high drain battery and really low resistance atties).

Essentially you pick an unregulated mod that you like and then drop in a high quality IMR high drain battery along with one of these:

Evolv Kick 2
Most powerful, Best Build, most accurate/stable/signal, Most Expensive...5-15 Watts...will take atties down to 0.5 Ohms

None of the following are set up for sub-ohm atties. If they fire them at all...it's risky to push using them in sub-ohm configurations.

Evolv Kick 1
Some places still have some original Evolv Kick 1 units in stock. Prices will vary....
5-10 Watts

Artisan Crown 2.0
Convenient on the fly adjustments using the mod's native fire button, a little cheaper than the Evolv Kick 2, Can be adjusted in 1 watt increments from 5-10 watts or put into a VV mode and adjusted in 0.2 volt increments from 3.5 - 5.5 volts. Comes with a VapeSafe Fuse/Spacer.

Smoktech Kick
Inexpensive clone of the Kick 1. 5 - 12 Watts. Good performer for the price.

Sigelei Stomp
Inexpensive clone of the Kick 1. 5-10 watts. Good performer for the price.

To Kick/Crown/Stomp an 18650 battery, have a look at Nemisis, Chi You, and King Style mods...as they come with the extensions needed to get the job done. They come in a wide variety of materials and finishes (stainless, brass, copper, etc.). They offer adjustable air flow, and their simple mechanical nature (buttons and contacts that should last a really long time) provides really good electrical conductivity. You can also elect to exchange the button springs for magnets if you like.

I like the Evolv Kick 2 in the Nemisis style mod because it's easy to get to the Kick for adjustments.
Just screw off the top and Viola!

I also like the Artisan Crown for devices that aren't as easy to get to the regulator (I.E. My Saber, Bolt, and K100). The Artisan Crown isn't quite as powerful as the Evolv Kick 2, but you can adjust it with the mod's native fire button. It supports a VW or a VV mode, and gives audio cues to let you know its settings, as well as the atty resistance.

Here's a shot showing their relative sizes:
Saber Kicked Edition w/Crown+18650, K100 w/Crown+18500, Nemisis Clone w/Kick+18650
