So I'm looking at kicking the analogs and starting to vape. Currently looking at the ego twists and wanting some recommendations on which start kit I should choose. Any help would be great as I have no clue on what to go with and which mods to get. Currently smoking Marlboro Menthol Lights right now and would like a decent imitation of the pull I get from them. Sorry if I sound like a noob but I guess thats why its new members forum

Welcome to ECF.

There's the "Battery", the atomizer, and the juice.

The "draw" is determined more by the atomizer (or carto, or tank, or ____) than the power supply (battery).

The flavor and nic content is determined by the juice (mostly).

The adjustability and to some degree the effectiveness, as well as dependability and longevity of charge, is determined by the battery/power-supply/e-cig part.

So.....what to get? It's tough! You're right, there's 100+ choices. Just get one. Keep it reasonable. In fact, get two, they're small. You need backup if one fails, while the other is charging, etc.

As to atomizers/cartos/juice. It's a crap shoot. You'll get 1,000 recommendations. Probably best to just order a kit that is in your range that has at least two batteries, some cartos or atomizers, and then a bunch of juice samples.

If you want a good experience get the Spinner 1300 mah with Kanger T2 atomizer. I have tree spinners and the black one has the best battery , the SS ones are thicker and battery doesn't last as long. Don't even bother with less than 1300 or 1100 mah.

Vivi nova , some people like it a lot, has a very airy drag so for a recent smoker like myself there just wasn't enough satisfaction in vapor.
After that I would recommended to get an APV like Sigelei or if you're on a budget a Vamo.

The juice question is a hard one because in all honesty I didn't find anything tasting like a cigarette but I was mainly nic and habit addicted not taste so no regrets here.
You will have to try a lot of flavors and see which one suits your needs , Mt Baker has a sale for 5 ml juice so that would be a good place to start experimenting.

Funny when I started I found the 12 mg nic too strong , giving me headaches , and dropped to 6 mg but vaping like crazy almost all the time , now I'm up to 12 mg and vaping almost the same time like I would smoke and kind of the same frequency.

AttyPops nailed it. Your taste buds are dulled by years of smoking, so even if you find the perfect combination right now, it won't be a month from now. So it isn't all that important what you get as long as it works.
First find out if you even like vaping without spending the family fortune, then be willing to learn what does/causes what. That way you will be able to make informed decisions based on your personal preferences. We didn't all smoke the same brand of cigarettes, so it's only natural that we won't all like the same e-cig.

@Stillmatic: I'm getting my Halo G6 today and JR 137 is getting his Halo Triton today. I'll let folks know how it goes on ECF, on Sunday; because that's my next off day. I've been hearing you gotta let ecig batteries charge for eight hours prior to use; and with my busy work schedule, I don't have the time for that on workdays. Anywho, I'd recommend Halo, starting out.

We're both pretty psyched to get our Halo ecigs.

    Hope this helps! Take care!

Stardust is a no brainer... Easier to fill than cartomizers, with good vapor and flavor. They are also fairly budget friendly :) I started off on a over the counter, gas station, made in China, $9 package. I liked it, but never hit the spot. But, it got my mind curious... And my wallet, lol.

My advice, buy cheap. If you feel slightly interested, or excited after it craps out, invest in something like a variable voltage ego, or heck, even just a regular ego. Skip the package deals, as most add ons are poop.. Get a few sample packs from different vendors online, a few stardust clearomizers, and vape on!

Edit: get a few e juice sample packs ;)

Does this mean I'm still alive?

Welcome to the forum....The twist is good, but I like the Vision Spinner 1300mah better. It has a good battery life and the numbers are easier to read on the dial. You'll want to have two batteries. One to use while the other is charging. Good luck!!:vapor:
I would recommend buying a couple disposables first to see if you take to vaping. Then start out with the aforementioned idea.
