Hello guys and gals. Wow! I didn't realize there was so much option for Ecigs :)
I been a Newport smoker for the last 15 years. I been able to keep it around 10 cigarettes per day. I am 33 now and these cigarettes are really starting to get to me. So I been trying to look for options from patches to pills. One day I'm watching tv and I see a cool commercial for blu Ecigs, but just like any other smoking alternatives I really didn't pay any mind to it. To make the story short, I decided to try one when I seen that it was sold at my local grocery store. I tried the menthol and surprisingly, it worked lol! I cut down real cigarettes down to about 2 to 3 per day. However, I think I can cut the real cigarettes off completely if a few things was different or better I should say. So this is where I need your help. I want to find something that is the most closest to Newport. One thing blu lacked on was lack of feeling when the smoke goes down my throat. It felt like I was smoking a very mild cigarette. Also, the smoke. The Smoke blu produced was just ok but I want more smoke. So basically, I think if I can find a ecig that can produce a good amount of smoke and give me a good throat hit I would be good to go. I would like to get rid of real cigarette craving for good and not smoke ecig and newports. Any help on where to start would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance guys!

I would recommend the Ego Twist batteries and the vivi nova for liquid delivery. For the liquid you will want to try as many flavors as you can. Get the smallest bottles of liquid you can get at first just to try them out and if you like them then you can order a larger bottle. You will need two Ego twist batteries and an ego charger. I would just get 1 vivi nova to start with and see if you like it. Some people like cartomizer tanks better. Check those out too. I would recommend getting a 510 threaded atomizer as well to try out new flavors with. You can watch videos of all of these products I mention on youtube just by searching for them

Hello & welcome!! I too was a pack or more a day Newport smoker & have been vaping for about 3 weeks now. I started out with a ego-t 1100 mah kit with CE4 clearomizers. There are several different kits & juices out there to explore. I ordered about 4 different menthol type juices from different vendors. The one I liked the most is called Newpark 18 mg from Vapesales.com but I encourage you to order a couple different ones so that you can find the one you like best. I started kind of like you. I started vaping on the 7th of this month & had my last cig on the 12th. Haven't looked back since!! Good luck! Hope this helps!

Also just received a new ego-c twist battery!! Loving the VV on this things as well! If you're able to I'd get one VV battery as well! Love Love Love it!!!

You wont find anything that truly replicates any traditional cigarrette, as there is no combustion or smoke involved. You can get close, but an exact match isnt going to happen. With that said, if you try a few different juices then you will likely find one that suits your tastes as well or better and without inhaling 4000+ toxic chemicals. As previous poster stated, try some different samples and read about what others have posted in the e liquid review forums. You will need 5 posts here in new member forums before you can post there, but you can do a search for menthol in that forum and see what others have to say. As for samples, if you liked the blu menthol you can order samples for about $3-4 from Johnson Creek. They make the juice for blu cigs and they make quality made in USA products. Their Tundra menthol is a popular choice, but there are several reputable companies out there and everybodys tastes are different. Mountain Oak Vapors, Halo, Heathers Heavenly Vapes, and High Brow Vapors just to name a few. Again, i would reccommend a little research time on the e liquid review section to see what others have to say. Regardless, dont give up whatever you do, because once you find that perfect juice you wont miss the Newports at all and your lungs and body will thank you for it. Good Luck!

Also, as far as equipment goes, you will find as many answers and suggestions as you will on juice, but like many others will tell you, you cant go wrong with an ego if some sort. It can be REALLY confusing. As a newbie, i found VulcanVapes website to be the most helpful. They have goid quality products and great customer service. They dont offer nearly as many options as some other vendors, but as a newbie, it is perfect. They keep it simple and offer some basic ego kits and products that you can build on in time when you are more experienced. And although I will likely get flamed for saying it. The Vea made by Johnson Creek is another entry level kit. It is a little overpriced and limited in regards to expanding it, but as a b newbie, it helped me get started and i still use it regularly when out in public because it is discreet and does a fine job overall. With that said i did end up getting a joyetech ego setup from Vulcan Vapes that is my preferred unit when at home or in the car. Again, research, research, research. Dont just listen to the few of us replying to your thread. Educate yourself and make a choice based off of your own judgement and you cant go wrong.

Thank you so much for your help guys.

I did a little looking around and found this on Vulcan vape site.
http://vulcanvape.myshopify.com/collections/starter-kits/products/vulcan-kit
Would this be a good recommended starter hardware?

So I would now basically choose flavor with wanted nicotine level? What nicotine level would you guys recommend for a 1/2 pack of Newport smoker such as myself?

I think I am slowly starting to get the hang of it:)

Cybergmonster, welcome to ECF.Where are you in Maryland? Depending on location, you may be relatively close to a brick and mortar store. If you can go to one and actually hold and use a few different items , it will help you alot.Besides the nicotine content, another factor that plays a role in the throat hit is pg/vg ratio. Pg stands for propylene glycol, vg is vegetable glycerin. Pg is an excellent flavor carrier that has a harshness about it that delivers a good throat hit but produces thin vapor. Vg tends to mute flavor, has almost no throat hit, is naturally a bit sweet and makes prodigious vapor. A good combo of the two makes for a nice vape experience, IMO.
If you have a choice , start with a 70/30 - 75/25 pg/vg ratio.
Good luck, and welcome aboard.

I was actually just sitting here wondering if there was any physical store I can go to and check it out locally before buying and possibly walk out with a set instead of having to wait. How does the price fair in the store such as the one you mentioned vs purchasing online? I am in glen burnie md btw:)

Its great if you can find a vaping store in your area,I did when I started and bought an ego twist kit there for about $50.00,I saw the kit you posted and it looks good but some people will steer you towards a variable voltage twist and if you are unfamiliar with it here is a great video on it.

B&M stores will be higher than prices you see on the internet due to their overhead for the actual store. What you get in return is actual hands on and knowledgeable assistance and possibly a try before you buy experience. Many offer taste test of the ejuice they sell also. For the extra money they charge and what you get it is worth it since you do not have to do trial and error over the web. Once you become more knowledgeable you can make an informed decision based off your needs.

Welcome to ECF.

I didn't realize this vape thing was this serious. I'm really starting to like this lol. The more I research the more I'm wanting to vape lol. Anyhow, I took a peep at vape dojo and their price seem very cheap. Have anyone actually used any of their products? I guess it's worth to go pass there and maybe pick up a kit since it's not too far from me. Vapor..... is actually closer so I guess I can give them a visit also. Most of the liquid I see seem to be 70pg/30vg. Is this a good combo for a good throat and chest hit? Thanks a bunch guys. I am involved with many online forums for many different things in my life but I have to admit, you guys are one of the most welcoming peoples I've come across. Thanks again :) can't wait to start vaping and stop inhaling this Newport poison.
