i said this once and i'll say it again.

The vaping community is rather rough on newcomers. I sure as hell would not want to join a group of showoffs/snobby type folk no matter what kind of product they got. heck, i'd rather die off of cigarettes/hookah then be in a community with snobs!
Now,
I am a PC technician by trade and I get frustrated with newbie questions be it a PC question or even gaming for that matter. However, being a little patient and adding a little niceness goes a long way to extending your relationship with "people".

When you call customer service (lets say Tmobile/At&T) would you want them to treat you like you SHOULD know something ? hell no.
I could give a rats ... about the guy with the paper clip.
I live in a .... country and i am lucky i found what i did find ... sure, the guy that sells it has no clue what ohms it is. he knows it by millimeter size. cause he sells it (the wire) for fixing heaters cause frankly thats what its used for in real life.
Your mod is actually a heater heating the ejuice (duh!)

This is a newcomers forum. Either be nice or dont bother replying.

(i blame the mods for letting crap like this go unpunished).

Pretty sure everyone here wants you to be safe above all else, if you cannot for a fact, determine what type of wire you have purchased, why on earth would you try to wrap coils and vape with it??

Settle down brother! He's got a ligit question! We all started somewhere!
@aalmosawi Welcome to the forum! Glad you're here!
When I first started building like you I was looking for sources of wire! After I saw the filthy condition of the wire at my local electronics store I decided to go somewhere Vape specific! I was worried about getting all the crud off properly before I vaped it. Not only that I wanted to know exactly what wire I was using, type & gauge! Too much of a chance to take when I'm looking for something that could directly affect my health! For me the cost of being safe is well worth whatever more it might cost! You're local B&M might be a great place to start! If not try an online supplier like vaporDNA or Fast tech there are literally hundreds to choose from! Keep asking questions!
If you will notice the first things I said to you were Welcome & Glad you're here! That's after I asked a veteran & guru of this Forum (Who's Knowledge I respect) to take it easy on you because you are new! I'm very sorry that you are unable to maybe get the proper items to vape safely! Because no matter what we say or how we say it I know we all have one concern: FOR YOU TO VAPE SAFELY!

When temp control hit the market in the past year there were lots of threads on toxic gas produced by Nickel and I believe Titanium wire. It's the reason most are concerned about what wire you are using. You won't know the materials in the wire. I would suggest putting your location on your profile so the responders understand the situation you are faced with.

I am not as advanced as most of these vapers but I do strongly feel safety is first. I wish there was a way to help but Iraq is far from my home.

I wish you the best in your journey.

You can make an educated guess as to what the wires might be, but as has been said already you will need a few pieces of information about the wires themselves.

If you can measure the actual diameter of the wire, and find its resistance for a given length, you can see if that matches up with any of the common wires that we use.

Doing that would at least allow you to wrap coils to a desired resistance. However, you still won't KNOW for certain what the wire IS or whether or not it is "safe."

Even if you can identify the wire to within a reasonable doubt, I still wouldn't vape on it. Various forms of Kanthal can be made up of a load of different compositions, that's why I only recommend getting it from a place that lists the exact makeup (ie: the % of nickel, steel, etc.) Two wires may have around the same ohms per foot, but they may be made of entirely different things.

Don't vape that mystery wire. Not tryna be mean or anything, but it's really in your best interest that you find something you can guarantee is quality wire.

IMHO I would toss it all. I will not vape anything that I do not know what it is. Everything from the batteries I use, to the juice I inhale to the wire in my builds. I am 100% positively sure that your health and well being is our primary concern, so why would any of us advocate you to use something no one knows what it is?????? Just my :2c:

To the OP:
Hi. Welcome to ECF. This is a forum of people from all over the world and we are (mostly) here to inform and help you, yes, there are some trolls about. That being said, we are trying to suggest that you purchase your vaping paraphernalia from a safe and reputable source, if possible (for your safety). There are many online vendors which should be able to ship items to you. We can only help with issues that are possible for us to help you (such as vendor suggestions or how to make coils, etc.). Hopefully you are not off-put by the community here, as some intentions are better thought than expressed.

First hold the red and black together to get the zero reading offset.

Then unroll a few feet of wire, and hole the red on one end of the wire, and the black on the other end of the wire, about 2 or 3 feet of wire.

Suppose you get 108 ohms in 3 feet,
that's 108 ohms in 108 inches = 1 ohm per inch.
is that the new math?? ;)

3 feet = 36 inches and if its 1 ohm per inch it should be 36 ohms...

@aalmosawi There are plenty of good folks here who are willing to help newcomer's like you and I. Please don't take it the wrong way, everyone here is concerned for your well being. Sometimes intense emotions and strong feelings surface when you're passionate about something, and these guys n gals are passionate towards helping strangers finding their ideal vape, but more importantly a safe vape, and giving up on cigarette. Hang in there! I hope you manage to find the right tools.
