So I should have listened to you all in the beginning! Lesson learned!!! I ended up buying a v2 express kit at my local grocery store. It sucked. Battery sucked. Tasted awful. Glad I got that before I bought the actual starter kit online.

So I decided to go the route you all told me to go. But now I need some suggestions. I am too new to e cigs that I have no clue at what I am suppose to be looking for and what would be good for me. I was looking at the Halo Triton. Really like it but it super expensive. (atleast for me). I ran across this eGo 650mAh w/ CE4 Clearomizer Blister Pack Starter Kit - MyFreedomSmokes.com and was wondering if it is of good quality and what else I should buy for it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Let me know what you would get for your first time set up. I would like something I can throw in my purse and it won't leak and that is pretty low maintenance. I am planning on slowly decreasing my nicotine until I am nicotine free. I just want to be off cigs (4 days so far!). If it helps any, I smoked about 15 Marlboro lights a day.

I started with the ego starter kit also 650 mah. I still use it daily at work because it is small and discreet. I bought the MVP 2 last week and absolutely love it. I didn't get mine online so I paid $60. I have seen several posts on here of prices like $30 and $40. I just didn't want to wait for it. So for the ego I think it is a good place to start but the MVP is also, as it I basically the same. With the exception of the bigger battery and vv/vw. Nothing complicated to it. Good luck with whatever you pick and congrats on being analog free for four days:)

For a starting kit I would recommend you take a look at the ego-c twist and aspire ego threaded atty. Great combo and low cost. I started with a fushion and it was trash quickly moved to an ego 900 and mini davide. I now have a VAMO V5 with Kanger Aero for around the house (big unit) and a twist with mini davide for on the go.

Get two you will need then when chagrin one you use the other.
I got real lucky and got 1300mah for my first ego and still use them today, my only wish was VV would have ben great .
Now use the mod's at home but sill use the ego for on the go just wish they where vv lol
You can get the ego blister pack at your B&M store for that price .
No matter what you go for the ego is a great starter .
Best wishes

i recommend the itaste vv v3, its small and packs a punch and is variable wattage (very important imo), you can buy a mini tank to add to it which improves the flavour

but i will say that upgrading is quite addictive and you get bored with the same set up after a while, so if you are the kind of person that upgrades things quite often then i suggest you do some research and opt for a newer model, itaste are quality genuine items and they have a fullrange of VW devices, im vaping the 134 mini right now

good luck

I'd avoid the cigarette-size batteries altogether. They won't have the power or the battery life per charge that you'll need.

I recommend a setup like this: GOOD STARTER SETUP FOR A BEGINNING VAPER

vivinovamini-twist.jpgspinnerProtank.jpg

Two eGo batteries, eGo charger, USB/wall adaptor, and at least two e-liquid delivery attachments (clearomizers or tanks). Clearomizers use coil heads which will need replacement ($3) every 2 - 3 weeks. You may want to get some of the replacement coil heads for the model you choose (they aren't interchangeable with other brands).

The blister pack kit you linked to eGo 650mAh w/ CE4 Clearomizer Blister Pack Starter Kit - MyFreedomSmokes.com uses disposable CE4 which do not have replaceable coil heads. You don't want those as they will be worthless after 2 - 3 weeks of use. This is a bargain basement quality setup and will likely disappoint.

If you're serious about quitting smoking, put out some cash and get some decent gear. You'll need a backup for everything you use: rechargeable batteries and e-liquid attachments. You'll actually be saving money with vaping and you can't put a price on good health.

So do you think I should throw down the cash and get the Halo Triton starter kit? From all the reviews I read, it is a good set up and leak proof. I really am not planning on vaping for the rest of my life. Just decreasing my nicotine and until I am at 0 and then just quit vaping all together.

i wouldnt bother buying the thing you linked , there is SO much better out there for only a few extra $

iTaste VV V3.0 - Best Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette Manufacturer| Innokin

you can get this for $30 from most online stores

a quick google search and just for the battery alone it is $30 or more without all the things you need for it. That's quite a bit more than "a few extra bucks" from $15. All the kits are sold out that I can see :(

Ok; I was about to suggest an Innokin Itaste VV V3 and a miniprotank2;
then I read the last line: 15 Marlboro lights a day.

That's not so much; the simple CE4 clearomizer blister pack might just work for you; it is a very common starter kit.
The CE4's do not have changeable atomizer coil heads; when the coil is no good anymore you buy another CE4 clearomizer.
If you don't use it much I guess it would last weeks, maybe months. Maybe soak it sometimes in hot water or alcohol to clean.

With the miniprotank2 (which is glass, not plastic) and many other tanks, you can replace the atomizer coil head.

The Halo have a good reputation for getting people off the cigarettes I think;

I'll second his opinion. Even though the iTaste v3.0 is a better product, I don't recommend it for a beginner user just because of the price. Two batteries are always recommended and I don't see spending that much more on a LCD screen and buttons that he'll end up discarding later if he totally gets off the bandwagon. there's very little functional wise that the iTaste v3.0 has to offer. If you do plan on sticking with vaping, then go ahead and get the iTaste, but if you plan on quitting all together, then go with some ego twist type batteries.

I'd also recommend going with a few replaceable coil clearomisers. it'll save you money in the long run even if you're quitting. The CE4's, although cheap, will leave you wondering why you're throwing that thing away when all you need to do is replace the coil.

I started with the Halo kit and wouldn't recommend it. It is a good set up, works well, reliable, plenty of vapor, and I've never had a problem with it. BUT, it has unusual size threads and doesn't work with other sizes. For example, when you are ready to upgrade to a glass tank or different drip tip you can't. Start with one of the above recommendations as you can then upgrade as you go and not be stuck with proprietary equipment.

Expect to be vaping for at least 3 months even if you are weening your nicotine concentration to zero to eventually stop vaping altogether. Baby steps; dont ween yourself off of nicotine too fast or you'll backslide.

The Halo starter kit would be barely adequate even for a smoker of 15 cigarettes a day. It only offers 400 or 600 mAh batteries. That "might" work for a half pack a day smoker. I'd recommend a couple of 900 mAh eGo batteries instead. 1300 mAh batteries are even better.

Smokeless Image battery size comparisons.jpgx2battery.jpg

650 mah, 900 mah, 1300 mah size comparisons

The Halo Titan tanks look to be an off brand Kanger T2 system. Those are 2 year old technology; there are MUCH better tanks available today. Kanger T3S, Kanger Mini-Protank, Kanger Evod, Innokin iClear 16, Aspire CE5 and Aspire Mini Vivi Nova are tanks you should be looking for.

Whichever tank system you buy, the coil head replacements will only work for that brand. They are not cross compatible from brand to brand. All the tank systems will work on any Ego battery unless the Ego you buy is proprietary (like Halo is). Buy Halo and you'll be stuck with only their products.

This is about the least expensive yet still high quality setup that you can buy ($69) stateside: http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

I got a very nice Kanger EVOD kit with two 650mAh batteries, two EVOD tanks, seven coils and a charger for $29 outta the bay. A week later added a 1300mAh Vision Spinner for another $24. Now two days ago ordered an MVP 2 Energy edition. Since the EVOD gear and the spinner are top notch products they will still be utilized. EVOD batteries/heads when Discrete use is warranted, Vision Spinner/EVOD head when out and could care less who notices and MVP for home use. The EVOD tanks have been highly recommended by a lot of members here and they are only about $6 a piece with a coil. Go with the 2.2ohm for versatility if you give them a try.

Is there certain coil clearomisers that I would have to buy? Or are most of them compatible with the ego battery?

Most stuff is compatible with eGo batteries nowadays. The exceptions are company's like blu and halo, volcano, green smoke etc that produce there own line of product; offhand I don't know which ones use the 510 threading, but the eGo batteries use the 510/eGo thread, and most clearomizers nowadays are made for the 510 thread.

If you plan on vaping for awhile i'd start w/ something VV/VW. I started w/ an EGO and that lasted all of 2 weeks before I was ready to go to the "Next Thing" being a VV/VW MVP2.. I really, Really enjoyed the vape quality and pretty much everything about the MVP2, but yet again another 2 weeks later I wanted the "Next Thing" which lead me to my Current Setup the VTR, and so far I pleased but yet again I'm on the hunt for the New "Next Thing" not exactly sure what that is yet, but given my track record I'll have it in about 2 weeks!!! What im saying is if you have an "Addictive personality" like myself, it would probably be easier for you to just start @ the top rather than amass an (Armory) of devices. The top of the line I would say for VV/VW mods would be the ProVari I keep hearing about( it's only VV, so it's not in my radar) then DNA20/30 Mods, but you can't go wrong with anything from the Innokin VV/VW line.. Haven't really gotten into the Mech Mods yet but I see myself fully engulfed in them & RBAs by the end of the summer!!! I suggest an Innokin MVP/or VTR there both durable as hell & you can put ANY Delivery device on them without worry!!!
