So I've narrowed it down to a few choices.

$16.22 Sentinel M16 Telescopic Mechanical Mod - brass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$21.01 Private V2 Telescopic Mechanical Mod - brass + copper + stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$21.04 Astro Telescopic Mechanical Mod - stainless steel+brass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

http://101vape.com/mechanical-mods/47-smoktech-magneto.html

I really love the way the private V2 looks. I'm just having a hard time deciding (i've been obsessively researching different mech mod clones for the past few days) and i CANNOT decide. Keep in mind this will be my first mech mod.

I will probably order 1 RBA and 1 rda along with batteries and a charger.

I'm overwhelmed with all the different mech mods on the market and all the mixed reviews on everything, i wish there was like a "go to" review source that ranked ALL the clones so i could make the best educated choice.

Please help me out guys!

The problem with a "go to review source" that ranks all mechanical mods....is that all the mech mods are very similar, with minor differences in design and details.

Basically, all a mech mod is , is a battery tube with a pin/connection for a delivery device.

In order to determine WHICH mod to get, you have to first identify the VARIABLES among mech mods. In other words, since mech mods are all pretty similar, you have to determine what actually CHANGES from mech mod to mech mod.

Here are a few things that changes between mech mods:

1) The type of button. Magnet vs. Spring
2) The type of batteries it takes
3) The metal used. Copper vs. Brass vs. Stainless Steel, etc
4) What is the center pin like. Floating? Silver coated?
5) How many pieces is the mod?

Those are some of the main differences that just came to mind, I'm sure there are more if you really think about it.

Personally, I have a Magneto clone, and as of TODAY I have a Sting Ray clone by Infinite.

Both use a magnet switch, which I LOVE. Both are spectacular mods :)

The choices are overwhelming to be sure. I'm going to guess that you will get 400 people telling you to get a Stingray as that seems to be the "flavor of the month". Not long ago that would have been the Nemesis, which seems to have fallen out of favor this month.

Anyway, of the mods you listed, the only one I have experience with is the Magneto. The Magneto is a solid mod with a very nice magnetic button. It was my first mech mod, and I happen to have it right next to me as I type this. Since buying some other mods, I have found that I prefer solid tube mods to the telescopic style of the Magneto, but it it is still a very nice mod for the money. It feels solid, has a nice heft to it, has an adjustable (floating) 510 connection, and it fires reliably and hits nicely. It also gives you the option of using any 18xxx battery without changing the tube or adjusting the center pin.

Using mine right now. :)

I think one of the priorities this list points to is : TELESCOPIC.

I assume the reason is to allow for various battery options.

I myself have been trying to figure out what mech will allow for
- a 650 with a kick and fuse
- (ego thread - very difficult to find; k100 and some cheap mechs)

You do not use a kick with a fuse.
Ever. They won't work together.
A kick has protective circuitry.
I have see this a lot over the past week.
Methinks you should do a bit more research before jumping in the mech train.

I have the m16 and love it. Another good one is the Launcher $19.18 Launcher V2 Telescopic Mechanical Mod - with logo at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping It's not as pretty as the m16 (imo) but it has a recessed button, which means you don't have to worry about a locking ring or accidental firing.

Sigelei 8W if you're looking for a good choice that has eGo threads. Also try FastTech. Many of their more inexpensive clones of the less popular styles have dual 510 and eGo threads. In general people don't want the extra length added to the mod to support eGo threading. Personally I can't think of anything that's worth putting on a mechanical mod that wouldn't do better on any of the myriad of $40-ish vv/vw mods. Perhaps the mini ProTank 2 or 3?
