I've only used it for maybe 6 hours total. It should have lasted longer than than shouldn't it?

It will last you for years - it's designed to be rebuilt, so you'll need some wick and wire.

If you're not getting any short circuit protection indication (flashing light on the twists and probably the others too) then the problem may be that it is open circuit. The most likely culprit is that the centre pin that fits in the grommet in the 510 connector has got pushed in. The grommet itself slides inside, pushed by the centre pin.

The fix is to pull the grommet and center pin out so that it's sitting correctly. The grommet has a lip that sits just outside the 510 threads. If this doesn't work the one of the wires might have become dislodged and is no longer making contact.

Have a look at this rebuild video and see if it helps at all. I'm afraid I can't watch much of it because my ISP is completely useless.

It should give you a pretty good idea how all the bits work together.

it looks like the mvp has a 3 amp limit (it won't fire coils below somewhere between 1.2 and 1.5Ω) The other devices you mentioned may be the same way. What is the resistance (ohms) of the build/coil in the drunker they did for you at the shop?

Sometimes, a build that's right on the amp limit cusp will dip below it as the coil is used. (over the course of a few hours, say)

Well, you are going to have to learn how to rebuild this thing within a week or two anyhow. Its not going to last forever as/is. I think, you should make sure you have an atomizer to use while you learn about rebuildables. Watch some videos, if you can, a "review" of the drunker would be good. They usually show you how to rebuild it. If you have a rebuildable you must have an ohmmeter or a device (mod) that can read ohms. This is a perfect example of "why". :)

here's some threads on your topic . . . . .

All the mods (devices) you mentioned have a cut-off, for safety. If you build it wrong, it won't fire (it just won't work) or it won't provide the vape you wanted (i.e. not the right "strength" . . . . probably too weak). You really ought to watch a few videos, do a youtube search for drunker tank rebuild. It does sound a bit like you have more work ahead of you than you had planned for. What you need to do, with the equipment you have IS NOT DANGEROUS. :)
