If you like vapor go with a LR Atty and make your own juice - Look at doing one with a VG base
i have an janty ego xl with a low resistance attomizer i love it its amazing its nice looking too as for juice buying premade is easiest halo eliquid is good as well as totally wicked depends on what flavors u r interested in truly

100mah is about an hour of moderate vaping
510 - 180mah (1-3 hours)
510 mega xl - longer and 280mah (2-4.5 hours)
510-T - uses a tank atomizer and tanks. I don't really recommend this. You can always buy a tank atty and tanks separately. These may come in both 180mah and 280mah versions - not sure
Ego - Fat battery 650mah to 1300mah and can optionally use hotter LR (low resistance) atomizers and cartomizers (bigger hotter hits but also use charge faster)
Ego-T - and Ego with a tank atty and tanks (again - you can just buy an Ego and get the tank atty and tanks later if you want)
Riva 510 - the most popular Ego clone and supposedly the ones at Liberty-Flights.com are all 3.7v now (a bit warmer than Ego)
My reasoning for not getting a tank version as your first ecig: A. you can turn any of the above into a tank model post-purchase if you want) B. People say you should not drip on tank attys. Dripping is a good way to test juices and some people's fave way of vaping.
With tank atomizers you can use tanks (and I think Ego has a smaller and larger tank atty and only the larger one can use the larger tanks). And many people prefer to use cartomizers (disposable combined cart+atty you can get 1 week or more use out of). SOme people love tanks and some have problems with leaking or lack of flavor.
BTW - you should also not drip on auto batteries. Don't buy autos if you get a slim 510. And I recommend Joye brand for all except the Riva. With normal atomizers you can use carts or drip.
If you decide on a tank model, I recommend you also buy a standard atomizer and drip tip to fit the atomizer so you can drip. And I recommend Boge cartomizers - slim 510 can only use standard resistance, and Ego/Riva can use standard or LR ones.

dormouse...I just received my Riva 510 yesterday and measured the voltage after a full charge. It was 3.5 on both batts. I read somewhere that at full charge they measure 4.2 volts then drop off after use. I got mine at Liberty-Flights and am happy with it but I can't tell any difference between it and my ego. Any thoughts?
That's interesting - re Riva 510 and 3.7v - I was going by what seevral people have said on this forum as well as in the comments on Liberty-Flights. Originally the Rive SE at Liberty Flights was the only 3.7v one then someone said they asked LF and they said all of the current kit stock is now 3.7.
Interesting. Well at least it is definitely warmer than a slim 510. I move a standard res Boge carto back and forth between the 510 manual and the Riva 510 and the Riva gives me a bit bigger/warmer hit which Ego would also do I guess.
BTW - interesting old battery voltage measuring test (includes Ego). On this old computer I can't really read the multimeter display but it looks interesting

Or get both - some people do that to have something slim when in public and something more beefy at home and for long trips etc. I use both manual 510 and a Riva 510. I like the slim ones for most of my vaping, I have chargers at work and a nice roomy PCC from NoSmokeVA.com for the short 510 manuals. And I carry a charged Riva battery too (in a cloth-covered Chinese lipstick case with something wrapped around the middle of the battery so the button doesn't press on anything). Slim 510 cannot use the LR attys/cartos nor the fast charger of an Ego or Riva (any of those can damage slim batteries)

I wonder if anybody has gotten 4.2 volts on a full charged Riva. It doesn't seem right that it would exceed it's specs. I've never used a 510 other than my 510 passthrough. I didn't like the bazillion complaints about short battery life yet people seem to love them so I tried the passthrough and I really love it. I prefer my ego and now my Riva for at home, like you, and use my 901 in public so not to draw too much attention although I have to cup the end with my hand to hide the bright blue light. I think most people think I'm sucking on a pen until they see the blue light. I'm afraid if I vape openly somebody is going to complaint to the management and I just don't need that hassle. Luckily there are a couple of bars in town that I frequent and have said it's ok to use e cigs.
I love my Riva. 1100 mAH and lasts me 2 full days. Of course I get a full day out of a 510 XL battery, so guess I'm a light vapor. I got my Riva at Vapor Junction and last I saw they were still on sale.

I just bought both of these and the 5v makes juices come alive. Dormouse told me BWB casablanca was good and on 5v it ties my all time favorite, which is Boba's. The 5v isn't good with dark colored juices however. Maybe higher ohm's?

I keep my 510 for a back-up in case my riva goes bad, Thank god i did because my first riva went bad after about 6 months (very heavy vaporere here) and it was a life saver!!!!
Give it at least three charge/discharge cycles before coming to any conclusion. Just one initial charge may not be enough for the battery to break in and show it's real performance level.
I get very powerful quality vapor w/ dual coil cart on 3.7v rough stack (slightly modified).
Make sure your PV can handle at least 2 amps before trying 1.6 ohm dual coil carto.

I'm loving my ego-t 900 mah and would highly recommend it as a first e-cig. I also have the XL cartamizers for on the go, but I wanted tanks for at home because they are easier to change flavors in.
get a trex from sharp smoker it works great for me,long battery life and great vaper
