I just read a post about an Ego-T charging on a usb port that exploded and sent flames two feet in the air and the end cap traveled about 25 feet and hit the door. I have only been vaping a few months now, and have read quite a bit on the ecf on different subjects.
I have seen about Mod batteries exploding, but never just "regular" batts. Now I am SCARED!!!

At just about any time, I have 3-4 510's charging from outlets in my house. I have never thought twice about leaving home, being asleep, etc. while they are charging. Now, I am thinking twice. AND, someone suggested getting "charging bags" to charge the batteries. How would that work if the charger is still connected to the wall outlet?

I need advice......Help!!

To be honest it probably makes sense to charge any battery in a bag or inside a tin. The main reason is that the charger can go faulty and put out too high a voltage, and even good batteries might not be able to take that.

A 'charging bag' is a fireproof bag with a space for the leads to exit - google for liposack or safecharge.

A cake tin or biscuit tin is another option. Cut a small hole for the cables or just lead them over the top. Place the lid on loosely and put a weight on the top - if a battery does blow, there is some force behind it. It's a good idea to cut a cable access hole, though, because that can also vent the gas. Just make sure to protect the wires where they go through.

What rolygate said is entirely true.

However...

You'd be hard pressed to find a vaper who does this. If you maintain your batteries properly, chances of this happening are pretty slim.

I liken it to carrying a Butane lighter in my pocket. I KNOW they have exploded and seriously injured people, but I still carried one when I smoked.
