Long story short I just realized for another post here in the PIF thread that my PT can be used on my 10 hour car trip sat... and here I've been sticking it to the wall? well as luck would have it I have a car adapter (bought and sold to charge ego batts) at mad vapes when I got the wall connector.
This adapter lets my PT work in the car. So now I'm confused is the car unit for batts or PT? 650 and 900 what of my Igo 1100 batts?
DC12v-24v output 5v max 1000ma.
Can I use on both or will I fry my batts? Will my catro's suffer? What ohm carto can I use in the car with this safely? Most my cartos are 2.6-2.8 have some 2.0's and a duel.....

Product is CARUSB Car Adapter for USB Chargers madvapes....
I have this posted for all to see but I got only one "you can make a PT" post I don't fully understand either....

Well if the charger has a USB plug then you can plug your USB passthru in it or the battery charger that you just screw the battery into. The one I use has the same specs except it's limit is 500mah & I use a 650 on it. I know at the very least you can use the largest battery on it & it wont fry. Oh & glad you figured that out about using in the car! That's why I love the PT batts so much! I don't believe it will affect your cartos as they will be running just like they usually do off the USB.

Once I got my first PT battery I realized I would never buy a regular one again lol. I think they should all be made that way actually. Cignot has a great option to piece your kit together with PT batteries in either size & mix and match colors etc. I haven't been able to take advantage of that yet but hopefully soon. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for posting this, I tried to ask the same question back a month or so ago, guess it didn't come out right :p

So.. let me make sure I"m understanding this correctly...

I have several USB wall plugs, and various USB adapters that fit INTO these plugs. However, I'm not sure which ones go with what! So basically you are saying it doesn't matter? Is that correct? If I plug a bigger mah batt into any size, it may not charge as well, but it will still work? What if the outputs on the cord don't match the outputs on the wall wort (or plug, or whatever it's called) Does THAT make a difference?

TIA!

I was looking at her specific USB adapter for the car here & going by her posted specs
http://www.madvapes.com/Car-Adapter-for-USB-Chargers_p_2239.htm

I'm not an expert electrician by any means but I do believe the answer is yes to the plugging in a larger mah battery into a lower mah charger.

I'm not sure exactly what things you have but again my non expert opinion is as long as the specs are within the same range on each piece it'll work lol So for her specs above I would not plug in the 650 battery into the charger putting out 1000.

What I did for mine was look online & see what the specs were on the ones they were selling specifically for my ego passthru & then checked my iPhone car charger... It was the same so that let me know it worked.

Hopefully an expert can post exact information for all of your questions :p

LBug, if you're running a 5v PT, you need a 2amp wall adapter or car lighter adapter...if you're running an eGo PT or regular 3.7v pt, the wall adapter for your ego or Riva type charger will run those no problem. It's just the 5v PT's that need the 2amp wall/lighter adapters.

Chelle is right. If it's a power supply with a car cig lighter or AC plug gozinta and a USB gozouta, if it has too low an mA rating it will charge batteries slower than the "optimum" charger, and won't work on a classic 5V pass-through (which should use a 2A capable USB power supply, to handle atomizers/cartomizers down to 2.5 ohms).

If you have a sit-and-go type PT, one with a built-in battery, generally a USB power supply output of 500 mA is fine. It'll keep everything topped-off nicely. A normal PC USB port is spec'd for 500 mA minimum -- you can puff on it all day, no drain on the battery.

Many PC USB ports provide higher output, some enough to drive a true PT, at least if the atty/carto is high enough ohms, but this is not recommended -- risk of damage to the PC in the case of getting a short in your PV.

No such thing as too high a rating on the USB power supply -- if it is rated at 10A the devices connecting to it won't be harmed.

The charger, the thing which has USB male connector on one side and the battery circular connector on the other, is a different matter. If the charger is rated too low (like using a std 510 100 mA type charger on an eGo battery), it will generally charge OK, just take a long time. On the other hand, if the charger is rated high mA output (like a Riva or eGo charger, say > 300 mA mA output), and you plug a normal 510 battery into it, the battery will fry (maybe not immediately, but it is bad to do). This is because the charger is driving too many mA into the battery.

Thanks for all the quick responses. I'm not sure exactly what I have on hand. I do *think* that my PT is not a 5v
But my problem lies in the fact that all my cords and pieces got mixed up. Now I don't know what to put together (unless they were previously stickied by me)
I'll drag them out and type them up shortly. Perhaps you can help me sort them all out
:p

Naw questions need answers and the PIF crew rock at helping. You're all good hun... I about cried when my other thread had no help. Love you all.....

Cool beans :) TY MUCH!

Ok.. here's my dilemma

Here's my stuffs..

I have all these dingles:

Ego output 4.2, 420 mAh
510 output 4.2, 150 mAh .. x3
?? output 4.2, 100 mAh

and then have some wall worts (?) USB/AC adapter
output 5v, 1A
output 3-6v, 1.2A max, 5W max (and a bunch of other numbers).. x2

and some USB cords:
blu output 4.2, 300 mAh.. x2

some half moon things w/o cords:
401 output 4.25, 100 mAh
KR108 output 4.2v, 200 mAh

loose cord for half moon things:
says 280v

and USB thing:
blu output 4.2, 150 mAh
?? output 4.2, 150 mAh

and USB multi hub
(no outputs/inputs)

then some car usb adapters:
input: 12-24v, MAX 500 mAh

So basically.. what I need to know is which 'wall adapter or wort' can I plug my dingles into? And (other than using the blu for the wrong thing, or the one that Says Ego.. goes to Ego... what ELSE wouldn't go together??) and which 'half moon thing' does the cord go to? And can I plug anything into the car adapters?

(I also have some complete pieces, if I need to interchange. Think I have 808, 801, 510, 901, VGo, and EGO.. oh and a PIGCIG charger.)

TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope someone can help all Greek to me lol. Once you have something settled find a way to color code them like nail polish a spot on corresponding units the same color or such.

I know!! Me too :p
I had most of them marked with stickers or art paint. But then someone sent me a few extras and some parts got pulled apart. So now I'm up a creek.

LBug, sounds like all your chargers are for skinny stock batts minus the higher mAh charger that's for your eGos. The Blu will fry any stock 510, so good that you know what that one is.

Any of your 3.7v PT's should work with any of your 1amp wall adapters. Pretty sure you don't have anything there that will power a 5v PT from the wall outlet. Have no idea on your car adapter.

"Half moon" things sound like stock chargers as well with that low mAh.

Good luck w/ that mess of cords and charger girlfriend!
