Unfortunately the chinese make the batteries emonty, the batteries we rely on, and i think were only talking a fraction of a mm wider here

Why do we rely on the Chinese, there a battery manufacturers out there who make very good, consistent batteries. They are not more expensive, because they last and there is quality controll. If I look how many batties I already ditched!. To give an example here are some models from a very reliable battery manufacturer:

Lithium Cylindrical - Data by Technology - VARTA Microbattery Corporate Website

sure they are different sizes then what we have now, but who cares. The mod is as good as it's weakest part!!

Yes i understand your point, reality is though most people look at price first, especially in our current climate, AW make great consistent batteries as well but they are nearly 4 times the price of the likes of trustfire, ultrafire and tennergy, so the chinese have most of the market on lithium batteries.

must be a nightmare for the likes of imeo and david and steve, they have to design their mods based around chinese batteries, why? because they are the market leaders on price and that's the way it is at the moment, all i'm saying is the manufacturers have to build battery inconsistency into their mods, making it maybe a mm wider to make sure all batteries will fit regardless of the supplier people buy their batteries from.

I have a $150 vaping machine!!! I don't think people will mind if the batties last, besides the one's I mention are around $10, that is not expensive given the fact that one can use those 10 X longer then the chinese crap!!

A bit OT but this seems like the right thread...

I managed to get a hold of an 510 atomizer while I wait for the new 901 adapter, and the hit etc is very very light. Compared to this crappy chinese passthrough I have and a 901 atomizer it doesn't hit at all

Could this be related to the also very light draw?

Anyways any tip to improve my experience?

I'd really like to enjoy my GGTS, PS. it's not the batteries, I tried with a freshly charged one

Cheers

and do you know for sure the batteries you linked to are going to be consistent 100% of the time? same size every time? not all chinese batteries are crap emonty, i have had cr2's last me over 8 months, think you have been a bit harsh there

Every 510 seems to be different Lux, i have had one take nearly 3 days to break in and give me throat hit, stick with it a while, hopefully it will come alive for you :)

I haven't gotten mine yet should be receiving it today but I just compared my batteries and it seems the tenergy 18650 are shorter and they should fit fine.
It's the width that is the problem here, not the length.

hello just got my GGTS from Lisa and had a problem with all my 18650 too.

no misfires because i remembered this thread. i didn't want to use force inserting the batteries, i used my multitool to grind and polish the teleskop part and the silver one a very tiny bit on the inside where the batteries got stopped.

now i can use my protected soshine and silver ultrafire very easy and have no worrys that the isolation could be damaged.

i'm just still get used to my new toy, but the 1st experience is promising.

PS: imeo i was really careful not to hurt the GGTS no.142 any bit in the process ;)

Glad you sorted it out. The 2500mAh 18650s I sell are snug but do seem to fit OK.

About thicker batteries:

If I make a larger GGTS inside then the external diameter has to be 0,5mm bigger. This is not noticeable but threads will change too. The result will be that we will have 2 kinds of GGTS out there and I cant make updates for 2 kind of GGTS in the future. So I have to leave it as it is and we have to buy 18650 batteries that fit inside.
Batteries may change in future but we cant hunt the factories all the time. Not a big deal if we use 2700mah and not 3000 mah because those batteries are huge in mah anyway.

But I will add 0,05mm so the inside diameter will be 18,55:D

Definitely add a small amount, but as you say, not enough to mean it's a whole other e-cig again, that will just cause too many problems.

I have two of the red UltraFire 3000mAh 18650's, they fit perfectly in mine
You are lucky with this, I believe it's the red ones that are mainly causing a problem as they are usually a fair bit fatter than the blue 2500mAh ones.

Ditto, sometimes those 510s can take a little while to warm up properly and then start pouring out the vapour after that. It's the luck of the draw with atomisers, unfortunately.

By the way guys, I think AW batts might still be chinese produced, but with better quality control. In fact, I think you'll find nearly all cells are Chinese. The difference isn't always in the actual cell size either, it's in the protection circuit and wrapping used on the batt that usually causes the problems.

I'm still waiting for the 5v passthrough and don't have batts for that but anyways, isn't generally 510 supposed to hit stronger than 901?

As I said, the 510 on GGTS (I also managed to cover one the atomizer holes) is way weaker than the 901 I have on a regular chinese 3.7 passthrough

edit: sorry haven't noticed about breaking the atty in. Well I'm using it for a few hours now, about 4 I'd say. Gonna give it more off course. I mean it's like I'm getting just smoke with hints of hit and flavor and I really have to take a long drag

In terms of size: all companies say that there is a margin, that is normal.
Yes of course I agree some are ok, but a very high percentage is not ok, well at least according to my experience (and I think many others from what I have read) with different brands, batches, distributors.. Anyway just wanted to get rid of my frustration around batteries, because that is really one to change!
I also have some that are working fine, but to come to that point I had to spend a lot of cash and what is more: the waiting to get them!

If it works on your passthrough ok, then it must be the battery...don't know what else it could be, sorry

Yip i think most if not all are chinese made and just rebranded, point i was trying to get across was that when a mod is being produced all battery makes have to be thought of, i'll shut me gob now ;)

OMG!!! where did you order them??? We should make a list with suppliers and what experience people had with them, that will help a little and at the end of the day Imeo will just change the diameter and everything will be solved and we will all be happy again ;-)
