I feel like a dweeb, I'm constantly having to switch units because my atty's get too hot.

What am I doing wrong- 5-10 min and my atty is so hot I can barely touch the whole unit- any suggestions or hints would be appreciated.

I'm currently switching between 510 manual, 810 and 401 and they are all less than 2 weeks old.

Thanks in advance,
Thornbyrd

As already mentioned, you've got to give the atty time to cool down between vapes. If it's getting too hot, then you are hitting it too often. I usually let my PV sit for at least a minute between vapes to let my atty cool and more importantly to allow time for the e-juice to re-saturate the atty for a good full-flavor next vape.

excactly how hot is to hot? all of my atomizers get "hot", but they seem to really give me what i want when they get to that point... but 501's are usually manuals too right?

serious questions, so pardon the ignorance... i figure if it doesnt burn me, theyre good, and ive only had to use one atomizer out of my new 401 kit, i used the same atomizer out of my SE kit for 5 months before the batteries finally took a dump...

They still get hot - all mine get roasting hot as I vape them alot lol I just have to remember to put them DOWN now n again, but the hot heat (so hot you could cook an egg I swear lol) doesnt seem to affect anything. My PT, Manual and 5v PT all get equally hot. just pause now n again - a few seconds is fine or blow down the atty hole after you take the cart off - sets them to rights. They cool really fast too.

I stick to the old "if I can still touch it, it's not too hot". Works for me.

510s can be either manual or auto, although the manual ones are more popular.
