I have an ego battery, and a couple of the wires are undone. Can someone please tell me where each wire goes? Here's some pictures. It's the yellow wire and the black one that are undone. Thanks. :p

Hi AhMazn and welcome to ECF :)

Google is your friend. Here is the result of a search for 'ego board wiring diagram'.

There are a couple I can see that are probably applicable to your board. Do you know how to solder? If you get it wrong and short the battery, these batteries will burn and/or explode unlike the bigger batteries vapers use. If you're at all unsure about what you're doing, don't do it. An explosion in your mouth will be painful to say the least!

I'm looking for someone to solder/re-solder and replace a button to get two ego twist batteries working - I'm a 70 yr old woman without those tools/abilities (grin) - willing to pay for the service! One battery has a button that no longer works and the 2nd battery never worked from day one (worth fixing!), when I peeked inside, gently pulling the top off I saw a wire end not connected to anything... now the button too is out of place in this bat and the top is no longer all the way 'on' or in place... help! haha
Perhaps these two things might be a quick fix by someone with some knowledge and experience - ?? - so I'm asking.

With these ego style batteries, if something like this happens it's almost invariably easier to just replace it. Believe me, I'm on a budget too... but most of them can be replaced for a pretty nominal cost. It's worth the peace of mind, I would think. Soldering yourself or outsourcing it seems like a lot of work for a ~$15 battery. But, that's just me.

Ok, I'm keeping track of the (Nix) answers.... in my search (grin). I'm of the old school that says, both of these have 'life' left in them, thus would be a waste of over $50 if I just trashed them. If nothing else is to be gained, then they'd be 'parts' for someone who did this kind of work for other's non-working bats. I'm a recycler from way back! haha

I'm NOT on a budget, (while working we both saved and laid aside for this time in our lives so we could travel the country and see things we'd only read about - going on 15 yrs doing that) just don't spend money for new when used can be fixed.

I truly understand the desire to save everything that can be saved, and I think you're right that there's someone who could likely still use the parts if there's life left. I also understand not wanting to throw money away, but in my mind it's not throwing away when it's remedying what could be a huge safety issue. You can buy JUST the batteries for not much money at all-- as you maybe know?-- this isn't a $50 purchase, not for an eGo style battery and nothing else. As someone else mentioned, the work to repair would either come close or surpass the likely cost of an individual battery, and if it's done incorrectly you have a hand-held pipe bomb.

I'm sure there's something to be done if you're determined to make sure the parts that still work get used to their fullest extent by someone who can potentially re-purpose them. I just don't think anyone should use them in that particular battery anymore! Just my 2c :)

Hopefully, now that you all have stated YOU are not the person I seek, perhaps you can hold your tongues now, unless you can share with me the name of someone who can help. These are eGo TWIST batteries and were not cheap.
Wow... really? I'm sure folks will be climbing the walls trying to help you now...

If you paid $50.00 for a ego twist then you got suckered. Theyre 20 to 22 bucks on several sites. Thats why everyone's saying to toss it and buy another one.

I agree. I have taken 1/2 dozen of these apart, even taken them to my computer repair guy who can do wonders with any kind of motherboard.....its really just not worth it.

Once the button pops out and the wires detach, even if you get alll that back in order, the button usually will get stuck again, or fall out again.

these things can be found at 4th of july upcoming sales......probably $10 for a non VV and about $20 for a VV one or so....

Nancy I respect your thoughts and also believe waste not want not. But I learned recently we don't live in that world anymore.....I even stopped buying expensive air conditioners cuz they went out as easily as cheapo ones.....

However, I WILL PM you links, if I'm looking at July 4th sales, on good deals I see. Do you want ego "twist" type batt or what???

Maybe others here can also PM you if they see anything.

I know where you are coming from.
In my option ,I believe you would by money ahead to get a replaceable battery mod. they will be a little larger in size and require a stand alone charger. I prefer ProVari. you can see what they offer here:2015 Classic ProVari: Variable Voltage/Wattage Ecig Check out the specials section for a good deal.
I am sure others can offer other ideas on replaceable battery mods.
Have a great day.

I admit to being the kind of person who wants to fix and save everything. And plenty of older things are/were worth fixing. Kitchen appliances used to last for decades, as did the big console TVs. I have and use a 1950 Farmall tractor. I have two pitchforks over a century old. And they sure don't build houses like mine anymore.

But, if I were able to fix those egos, I bet it would take me close to 2 hours, working with such tiny components and such a small space. I would want more than what they would cost to replace for my time. I agree, I think you're better off buying a new one if its not something you can do yourself.
