I got some new cartomizers yesterday. I got a tobacco shop sampler, and as usual, there were a couple extra cartos tossed in. Out of the seven of them, I have four that won't screw on to the battery all the way. I tried several times, thinking I had them crooked, but no luck. Is there a way to fix this, or should I just reverse taryn spin the juice out of them and throw these cartos away?

Also, there area couple with hard plastic caps that seem to be glued on. Usually, I can just pop the caps out with a binder clip, but I can't get these ones off. I like to take them off and use a whistle tip. Any ideas other than brute force?

Thanks,
~A

If it is a relatively new battery....it is because the threads are not cut just right. The fix is simple sand paper or steel wool. Check this video:

Regarding caps....there are two kinds of premium...hard and soft. The hard caps are glued in and you either have to warm the carto in very hot water to loosen the glue, or just destroy the cap removing it and find an old soft or hard cap to replace it. I have had good luck just being patient with a mini eyeglass screwdriver placed in the hole and slowly prying my way around until it pops....making sure not to apply enough pressure to wreck the cap.

I finally got the courage up to try the steel wool and brute force methods. The one carto now goes on (lucky it was the 555), but the other three won't. And I scuffed up the top of my battery pretty good. Maybe I'll go the rest of the way and have the matte black batteries I've been wanting.

Aw, well.. three cartos - no biggie. But it was worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I've never had bad threaded carto's but I did get a pass through from V4L a couple weeks ago and it had some really ate up threading on it, actually had to take a tape and die it on my workbench and redo the threads.

Well at least you can redo threading, I would not know where or how to start lol. I would have had to wait for a replacement.
