Reverse Taryn spin to drain a carto

I tried this last night when rinsing out a carto. Works great. I had to do two reverse spins. The first time the water wasn't clear; looked like diluted juice. After another rinse and a second spin the water was perfectly clear.
BTW, I'm using a leatherman tool case to spin w/. Since it has the belt loop it's perfect for the string. It holds three cartos side by side.

My Arm got tired after a few carts - So i Decided to take apart my Circulating Standing fan - and taped a few battery bags to the Blades at a time - threw it on high speed. Got the hell outa the room and only 1 flew off / took me 10mns to find it. But Bravo!!
I got mine at my local drug store. They have them behind the counter. I use a 1ml syringe and a 20 gauge needle.
If I haven't said it before,,Take a condom and poke a hole in the center..Then I use a small leather lace a few inches long
(to taste) and stick it through the hole and tie a small knot to keep it from sliding back out the hole..When you need to do the Taryn Spin to fill,,place a ....-plugged condom on the batt. end and slide the other one (with the lace attached) on the top, give it a spin,,and ta-da!! VERY much quicker and easier as the whole "spinner" can be bunched up and fits in basically any case or holder...Then to do the "reverse Taryn spin" simply do the opposite,,,remove the white cap and rubber ring(if it has one),,place a condom only about half way on the mouthpiece end(to leave room for the juice),,then use your spinner condom with the lace and place it on the batt. end,,give it a spin,,and the remaining juice in the cart will fill the loose condom,,remove your "tools" then you can do as you wish with the "drained" juice!!;-)

Just a couple of quick notes on the Taryn spin. I use a large key-ring medicine bottle, the kind you use to carry your meds around with you; it has a ring for the cord the cap screws on and works great for me ..
I have found that doing a hard reverse spin on an empty carto tends to fluff the batting back out and allows more juice to go in .... especially if it has been refilled a couple of times... i was finding that the fill spin was packing down batting

How do you keep the "condom" from falling off while spinning?
To do the reverse spin, I used a knee sock, put the long condom on about halfway, and twist-tied the carto in place. I only spun it a few times because I just wanted to get some excess out. But the condom fell off. Guess I'll be sucking socks tonight.
Annoying because when I got the cartos the condoms were impossible to get off. I guess they get slick if a little juice gets in there.

You have to make sure the carto and the condom are dry. Go to the 9:37 mark and stop sucking socks.

I made a Taryn spinner by going to the hobby store and buying a bottle of glitter with a screw on cap. I emptied out the glitter, washed the bottle, and drilled a hole into the cap with a dremel. Put a nylon rope through the hole and tied it off.
The bottle size is about 2 inches tall and about the diameter of a quarter. If you want to do this, make sure the bottle has a SCREW ON cap, so that it doesn't slip off while spinning.

To reverse spin, I use an old passthrough that stopped working. Just screw on the carto.

You guys are awesome these are both great ideas (the glitter bottle and the coat hanger tube.) I am going to see what I have around the house. I think I have a little velcro case meant for a USB drive. I normally carry my sd cards in it. They might have to find a new home if I can get the condom to stay put while sliding the carto in there. That sounds filthy but don't blame me!
I actually thought about using an extra usb PT but I know it would fly off, possibly damaging my battery too.

Here's another idea....Margie made me a taryn spinner out of a V4L battery pouch. She cut the pouch so it was only a little longer than a carto and attached(sewed) 2 long streamers to it. Works great for spinning cartos!
Sorry to revive this thread, but I just came across the taryn spin and it's great!! I had no idea I was filling my cartos so little!
I took a sunglasses pouch and simply wrapped a rubber band around it and the carto. Super easy. I don't even need to take it off. Spin, fill, spin, fill, spin, done!
