PS, to the ECF team, I've never heard of such ridiculous forum posting rules and restrictions! This post would have been much more appropriate in the health section, but I can't post or respond to the nearly 3 year old, 5 page discussion thread on tooth issues. The reason I'm here. :glare:

yes this is a little too much but the rules, as most spam bots only post about 3 times.
but better to be safe, I am an admin of a forum myself and it's a pain getting rid of bots and spam threads.

sorry, I have no info on your issue just wanted to comment on this.
good luck

I read through the post in the health question section and everyone says that they have issues with their teeth only because they had bad teeth to begin with... I'm nearly 40 and have one cavity, been vaping for about 4 months now and my teeth are starting to ache. I've been to the dentist and he doesn't see any problems... I just don't know what to do. I've never had this problem with cigs before, but certainly don't want to go back!! I'm using the green smoke device and am considering switching to the T-rex device.... Any suggestions???

The only thing I can think of is you may be taking "hard" draws on the pv. I notice a lot of people new to vapping try to "smoke" instead of vape. Try relaxing and taking slow easy puffs. Excessive amounts of nicotine can defiantly get you to clinch or grind your teeth. You can lower the nicotine level if you are using the pv too much to try and alleviate what sounds like you are getting way too much. Also some people take longer than others to actually purge themselves of all the "ugly" analogs caused. I have to agree with you on the restrictions. I'm not a new vaper, but oh well. Good luck to you.

Well I guess this rule would just confine the spam to the new members section, which would be easier to monitor I guess, but it you're not getting hammered with spam in this forum then the rule might be overkill. I can tell you from my years of experience in managing forums that this won't stop anyone. What it will do though is force a lot of posts here where they would have been much better off elsewhere.

When you stop smoking, there will be increased blood flow not only to the gums but more importantly in this case, to the teeth as well. Smoking also coats your teeth with tar and other compounds, as we know, which also serves as a natural barrier. So with both of these changes taking place it's not unexpected that one would see increased tooth sensitivity. You can try a product like Sensodyne which will definitely help somewhat, and then if that's not enough, just look to ride it out, as the blood vessels will adapt to this new increased dialation in good time :)

I have been vaping for over a year now, I've noticed my teeth can sometimes ache. I don't know for sure, but I sometimes think it can be from the type of juice I'm using. Possible is has more of a sweetener and when vaporized can irritate teeth much like sugary foods? I don't know if it happens to you guys but my tongue develops a lot of crud on it over a day of vaping, I use a tongue scraper/cleaner to clean it off, but if that stuff gets on your tongue I'm sure it can get into your gums leading to a slight ache in teeth. Either way not enough of a problem for me to stop vaping.

Interesting bepop as I have had less tongue coating since I stopped smoking. My tongue is so pink and clean now.

I, too am now having tooth pain at 45 days vaping. Tonight it is really really bad and its my lower bottom front teeth on the posterior gum line. I grabbed a mirror and got to looking and OH MY GOD!, I have a build up of something there. One of the teeth is the same tooth I had a root canal done on about 15 years ago.
Making a dentist appt in the morning. I am almost certain I have cavities there and probably from smoking, since that area is the first contact the smoke makes with the mouth. It has been a year since I have seen the dentist (I hate going). My last appt was good. No cavities. No mention of any "bad" areas on any of my teeth, just the usual staining from cigs and the usual encouragement from the dentist to stop smoking. But now....... UGH!

I moved last year, so I will be making an appt with a totally new dentist. And I have no idea who to see here. My search begins and I had already planned on getting my teeth whitened and other cosmetic work done as my reward for quitting smoking. I will be starting my "reward" a little sooner than planned though, it seems.

I started vaping and stopped smoking 5 weeks ago after 33years. The first couple of weeks were a breeze. Then all heck broke loose including canker sores, sore gums/teeth, lungs hurting etc. I thought that I had contracted every disease known to man...lol. This went on for almost 3 weeks and now is subsiding. I did however go the the doc and get my chest checked out and an x-ray. He also checked my blood and did an EKG. Told me that it was just my body de-toxing/healing and not to worry. I have to admit though, I've never experienced lung pain before and it is quite painful and scary.

Good luck, it will get better.

I certainly don't think vaping is causing any tooth pain at all. I think I am just getting better blood flow and feeling in my teeth/gums now, so I am able to detect a problem that I may have not felt until later if I were smoking. My teeth are getting whiter, my tongue and gums are pinker. I have never had major problems with my teeth. Well, not that I knew about anyway. Apparently, I have a problem that I wasn't aware of.

I just dread the dentist so bad! I doooooon't wanna.

3 months so far for me. I was having a ton of gum bleeding the first week or two after switching. I had always had a pink toothbrush while smoking, but it turned bright, scary red after I started vaping. Now I'm back to a pink toothbrush. So I think quitting smoking is what caused me to bleed more. I don't think vaping has had any effect. Obv I need to see my dentist, but no dental insurance and I live paycheck to paycheck. I did have one very sensitive tooth that hasn't bothered me since I switched. So that's a plus.
