Hey Orchid,
First of all, welcome and congratulations for taking the plunge. I think most of us here started with the same questions and issues you are. I know I stated with a cheap cig-a-like style unit that quickly died and left me unsatisfied. There are a lot of options out there these days, so the best way to point you in the right direction would be to ask you some questions:
- What style of device are you most interested in? (Cylindrical tube or box style mod): This question is an important one and will most likely depend on where/when you use your device. For example, there may be some box mods that give you better battery life, but they may be more cumbersome to carry around if you are "on-the-go" all the time. Will this be something that you need to easily fit inside of a pocket or does a box style mod appeal more.
- Do you have the ability to carry extra batteries with you or are you more interested in a device that will last most/all of the day without changing the battery?
- You mentioned bottom coil tanks. I think that this is a wise choice as there are some really good options out there for these and they are simple to use. Are you still OK with this style of tank?
- Realizing that there are options for devices where you physically need to change the batteries, and others that can be plugged into a USB port on your PC or via an outlet, which is more appealing to you? Note that the USB option is more common on box style mods, however, there are cylindrical batteries that can be charged in the same manner such as ego and other "starter-kit" style batteries.
My first thought based on your issues is to recommend something that I know is proven and countless people have used and love, which is an MVP v2 device or the newer, smaller iLeaf iStick with either an Aspire Nautilus Mini (BVC coils), or a Kanger Aerotank. It's a fairly simple setup, top of the line bottom-coil style tanks, and a device (box-style) that has great battery life, good form-factor, and great for newer vapers. These devices will give you the power to run your coils, regardless of the resistance you choose. So 1.0/1.2/1.5/2.0 doesn't matter, you adjust your power to your liking and go.
This recommendation could be completely different after seeing the answers to some of the above questions, but these are pretty popular devices and great for those new to vaping but wanting more than a starter-style battery can offer.
