Hoping someone can help me. My past orders with other vendors have been great, but this one has thrown me for a loop...

Recently ordered from a vendor I haven't used before and received (4) "510 & 520 5 Volt PTs". When I tried to use them with a 2 amp wall charger the led would flash 5 times, but other than that they were dead as a doornail. This happened with all 4 PTs. I even left one on the charger for 4 hours just in case it might show some signs of life. (I use a 5 Volt PT on this charger every day so I know it works fine).

I emailed the vendor and he said (verbatim), "That 5 flashes means you do not have enough power to operate the passThru's.
All passThru's are tested before they leave.
The reason is 80% of people do not have a big enough power supply to run them .
Please make sure your power supply is pushing at least 2000mah it should be 2500 but 2000 will work.
They all where tested so I know they work once you get the correct power
"

I wrote back and asked if my eGo charger would work. He didn't reply. I waited another business day and asked if he sold a charger that would fire up the PTs. No response. What do I do?

Tiny red flags I haven't encountered before: PTs were sent in a regular priority mail envelope with no padding; the package was shipped without tracking; didn't enclose the liquid sample that was promised with a $50 order; no invoice was enclosed; and needed to say twice in one short email that they were tested? (It was obvious they weren't).

By themselves none of these tiny red flags would concern me, but all of these in one order?

Am wondering if this sounds right to any of you? If so, where do I get a 2500 mAh charger? If not, what do all of you suggest I do?

Thanks so much for any thoughts or advice you have!

I'm confused. Are these the kind of passthroughs that you can unplug at the tip? I don't understand why you are charging it... Why are you charging it?

I know for a fact a regular wall to USB adapter won't work. You need to get a 5v one. Madvapes sells them.. but... did you try hooking it up to your PC?

I don't believe they will work with a charger. You need to get an ac to usb adapter not charger

Thanks, I needed to look up what I actually use. It's a "2 amp AC to USB Adapter, rated for 2 full amps at 5 volts. Great for USB Passthroughs". Leave it to me to call it a 2amp wall charger. It doesn't power up the 4 new PTs though, even though it works on the 5 volt one I already had.

The one I have (2 amp AC to USB Adapter, rated for 2 full amps at 5 volts....not a 2 amp charger like I called it) is from Madvapes, along with their 5 Volt PT. Love it! Unfortunately it won't power up these PTs. I hadn't tried hooking it up to my PC because I'd heard it could damage the motherboard, but after you mentioned it I just couldn't resist doing it for a minute or two, and <drum roll please> ...it works! Thank you! One problem solved, but now I need to find an Ac to usb adapter that will power these.

Do you think I just need to look around in Walmart or possibly Radioshack for some type of iphone adapter then? I still need to find some sort of a permanent thing that will work for these.

Do not buy an iphone adapter, you will pay triple price for the same product. Anything with an apple logo is overpriced, and that is a fact. I've seen many people recommend a powered usb hub. I personally recommend using your computer.
