USB passthru on AC charger power supply

I have a kr8 passthru on the way. When I'm away from my pc can I power the passthru with the usb ac power supplies that came with my battery chargers for the kr8 batteries. 5 volt output seems to match but can will they work?

It's recommended that the AC adapter be rated at 500mA at least and better if around 1000mA. If it's below 500mA it might burn out the AC adapter. Key word "might".

I just noticed my Iphone charger outputs 5V@1AMP, would that work well?

If the passthrough doesn't have a battery in it then to be safe you need an adaptor rated at 2 amps. I measure KR808s at 2.7 to 3 ohms which at 5 volts means up to 1.85 amps. It is probably less due to the resistance of the wires in the passthrough but in the interests of safety a 2 amp rating is best.
