Hello all. I have been reading alot on here, and also looking over alot of sites to get started with vaping, don't have a clue which one to get. My hubby & I are 2 packers-a-day for 35 years and desperately wana get rid of analogs. Tried everything with no luck. We are pumped about this vaping thing and very anxious to get started!!! Love this forum, glad 2 be here!:thumb:

Good to here you both want to make the switch. I personally made the switch June 6t, 2009 and could not have felt better about quitting!

Personally though I would try posting this in the newbie forum so that you can get a few more opinions on what to try out first. As it would be wrong to suggest another product on a vendors forum. Although I have just picked up a protege from here today I've heard wonderful things about it.

Some people claim you should not waste your time getting the "beginner" e-cigarettes and jump right into one of the mods. Personally I always thought that was a dumb idea, and that I would never be caught dead puffing on the mods... but they were right ...I am now ordering one of the mods...

...just think of all the money we could have saved if we would have just jumped into the mods...

I just wish my protege would hurry and get here... even though I ordered it today at around 4:30pm CST, and I'm sure has not hit the post office yet. I go the 510 version simply because I have a good many of 510 atomizers stocked up. Although I am thinking about getting the 801 adapter and using m201 atomizers, as I heard those are really nice too...

In your bushes, watching you undress
I think you might have posted in the wrong section for this question. Typically new vapers want something that feels and/or looks more like an actual cigarette, and will more closely mimic one.

This particular part of the forum is dedicated to what I like to call "hot-rods", or e-cigs on steroids. These in particular are made by Puresmoker and include the Prodigy and Protege. These are extra large battery housings with the ability to enhance vapor produciton, offer much longer vaping sessions between battery changes, and enhance flavor. BUT they do not look or feel like a cigarette. Go grab a screwdriver out of your toolbox and imagine that this is a little more like using a Prodigy... you see what I mean.

Most, but not all new vapers start with something like a 510, 901, etc that more closely resemble the feel of a cigarette. But by no means does that preclude you from jumping straight into the deep end! If you don't care, or have a need for a unit that looks/feels like a cigarette, you can't do better than a Protege or Prodigy. The Protege is a smaller unit that vapes at 3.7v for a wallop of vapor and flavor and a cool sensation in the vapor. The Prodigy on the other hand is much larger and vapes at 5v and provides INTENSE flavor, BILLOWS of vapor, and a slightly warm sensation to the vapor.

Here is a photo I took with several types of e-cigs alongside my Prodigy and Silver Bullet mods:

In the foreground you'll see my black 510. Also in there (red and blue) are SideSho, and the little tiny guy is a Blu. On top of the skull is an M401 Dragon. Hopefully that will put the sizes in perspective for you.

You came to the right place, PS is good people. Steve is awesome, and his products are top notch.

If you smoke 2 packs a day, the protege or prodigy is the best thing to get. I went from about a pack and a half a day to nothing about 9 months ago. It was really tough using the traditional PV's, it was a constant struggle. As soon as i got the prodigy, all was well, i don't even think about smoking analogs anymore.

Good luck.
