I need some advice. I've been vaping for 2 months. I purchased a couple of 510 thread batteries and a couple of ego kanger cartomizers. I was a pack and half smoker and haven't picked an analog since Mother's Day. I love the e-cig but have a few questions. I am very new to this so I want to keep it simple. How do I clean my cartomizers? Can I also clean my atomizer and when should I replace them? My kanger occasionally leaks is there a better cartomizer (container) on the market or am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Welcome to ECF and congrats on starting vaping

If you could be more specific on batteries and cartomizers you have we can assist you better (is it the Kanger Protank or Evod or T3???)

If you bought these online if you could just go to the website and and copy and paste a link to the batteries and cartomizers so we can see what you have exactly that would be great

Is this what you have?

How do I clean my cartomizers?
If it is a cartomizer I tried every way possible to clean them and found it wasn't worth it.

If you have a clearomizer the head (wick+ coil) can be removed and cleaned- also cheaply replaced when it burns out.
Do you have a link or picture of your Ecig?

@Vapor Eyes Er...Yes that's the battery I have and to clarify, I have a clearomizer (sorry, still learnining the correct names and terms). How do I prevent leaking?

That a cartomizer- attaches to the battery and holds and vaporizes the juice.
You could go here and find your clearomizer:
kanger clearomizer - Google Search

I have an EVOD eGo Bottom Fed Atomizer

Thank you. I don't own it but...
"Check to ensure that the center post is tight to the bottom. Quite a few heads aren't tight to the bottom after manufacture and will cause leaking. Also after filling do not over tighten the bottom to the body, just needs to be snug."

I've been using the Vision brand Mini Vivi Nova 2.0 ml for 11+ months and have no issues- heads wick+ coil) are cheap ($2.00) and easy (10 secs) to replace. My heads are lasting 10+ weeks.

Evods are very easy to clean - just take apart and rinse under hot water - remember to dry thoroughly before using - re: leaking starts when they get low in fluid or the heads are about shot (mine leaked really bad when I removed both flavor wicks) - also the head may get loose when you unscrew it to add juice - make sure it is tight before you screw the base back on

here is great place for replacement heads at a good price - evod and protank heads are interchangeable

Kanger ProTank Coil Replacement **5 Pack - 1.8-2.1 ohms

I recommend the 1.8 to 2.1 ohm heads as they work better with regular voltage batteries

I bought my girlfriend a few of those, and she uses them quite often. I recommend cleaning them whenever you change juice flavors. The way I do this is by first unscrewing the bottom part which contains the wick and coil. Fill the tank up half way with warm water. With your thumb and index finger, cover both ends and shake for a good 20-30 seconds. Pour the water out and repeat the process until the scent of your old flavor is pretty much gone. Take the coil piece and run it under warm water for a couple seconds, dry it off, and screw it onto your battery. I usually fire it a couple of times to dry the wick, but only once or twice so as not to burn the wick. Fill up your tank, screw on the coil and take it for a test drive.

As for the leaking, in my experience, pressure has a lot to do with it. Periodically I would unscrew the bottom coil piece and allow outside air to reset the pressure in the tank. I hope this helps.
